Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, and CPA) are an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the banking industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven experience as COO or in other managerial positions.
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, sales, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.

Lead a team of engineers in the water design centre

Civil Engineer (Water): Design of water infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, boreholes, water/wastewater treatment works, reservoirs, control valves etc.

Preparation of reports for all stages of project implementation, including inception, feasibility/ business plans, concept & viability, design development, tender & procurement, close-out etc.

Overall contract/project management, including interaction with clients, contractors & other stakeholders, attendance of progress meetings, preparation of payment certificates, dealing with contractual claims etc.

Key Requirements:

Experience in leading and training a team of engineers and planning of work breakdown structures that align with the company’s internal cash flow projections.

Experience in managing GCC, JBCC and NEC Contracts and dealing with claims.

Experience in compiling reports for all stages of project implementation, including inception reports, design reports, business plans / feasibility studies etc.

Experience in grant-funded projects (MIG, WSIG, RBIG etc.).

Experience in compilation of technical reports, business plans and project management.

Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, other disciplines and various other stakeholders.

Experience in Water/Sanitation master plans, WSDPs, NRW Management Plans advantageous.

Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, iDAS & Wadiso/Epanet.

Experience in Revit & Surge design software beneficial.

Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Proficiency in isiZulu advantageous.

Medically fit and willing to work on construction sites.

Job Purpose Statement

The Securelytics Principal Engineer will report to the Securelytics Business Unit Manager and work closely with the Securelytics Team. The job function is split between two areas:

  1. Solutions Architect for Security - perform a pre-sales function to design, architect and scope security services and solutions. This involves a detailed understanding of the Securelytics offering to the market and service catalogue.
  2. Delivery - Work with the Securelytics team to deliver projects and services to customers. Act as a senior escalation to the team to assist with incidents and requests.

Principal Engineer - Security

Position Details

The role involves enhancing BCT's security offerings, ensuring proactive threat management, incident response, and continuous cybersecurity improvements. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on Microsoft, Fortinet, and Sophos technologies.

Key Responsibilities Delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and act as escalation point for security issues.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of security personnel.
  • Implement security solutions and monthly reporting.
  • Support Security Operations, Threat Detection, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Vulnerability Management, and Risk Management.
Solution Development & Pre-sales
  • Design detailed security solutions, project plans, and scope of work.
  • Present to customers, conduct demos, POCs, and assessments.
  • Contribute to service delivery contracts.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work with IT, Security, and Risk teams to improve security strategies.
  • Provide security reports and collaborate on initiatives.
  • Maintain communication through collaboration tools.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
  • Stay updated on security threats and practices.
  • Define SOPs, conduct audits, and research new solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with standards like Popia, PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, CIS, NIST.
Performance Expectations
  • Maintain leadership presence and work in-office at least three days/week.
  • Drive key performance metrics and achieve project milestones.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and effective risk communication.
  • Promote continuous professional development and accountability.
Job Requirements Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years in IT and 10 in Cybersecurity.
  • Leadership experience in technical roles.
  • Expertise in Microsoft security tools (Azure Sentinel, Defender, Security Center).
  • Knowledge of threat management, managing security incidents.
  • Certifications: Fortinet FCSS/NSE7, Sophos Architect, CISSP, CISM, CASP+ or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (Popia, PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001, CIS, NIST).
