Civil Engineering Technologist

Hire Resolve is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a talented and driven Civil Engineering Technologist to join our client's team in uMhlanga, KZN, South Africa. As a Civil Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various civil engineering projects, including roads, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage.


Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames.
  • Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels
  • Site supervision as and when required
  • Contribute to the preparation of project reports and proficiency in technical report writing
  • A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects
  • Surveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgrades
  • Sound Project Management Skills - Liaise, co-operate, and provide required information to clients and stakeholders at various stages
  • Preparation of estimates of construction costs (BOQs)
  • Preparation of specifications and preambles for construction works (Colto / Coto / SANS / GCC etc.)

Requirements:

  • Completed minimum B.Eng or BTech.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • No less than 10 years experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)
  • Proficient in design packages
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience essential
  • Technical knowledge of drawing and design processes
  • Project Management experience is essential
