Programmes Manager - Siyakwazi
Siyakwazi is a dynamic nonprofit organisation based in KwaNzimakwe, KwaZulu-Natal. Siyakwazi runs a number of programmes dedicated to promoting inclusive education and supporting children with disabilities and developmental delays. We believe in enabling all children, regardless of ability, to participate meaningfully in their communities and to access quality support in homes, ECD centres, schools, and clinics.
Siyakwazi is currently seeking a
Programmes Manager,
who will work closely with the Executive Director, and play a key role in the work for the organisation as whole. This is a full-time, on-site position, based at Siyakwazi's Resource Centre, on the South Coast of KZN, near Port Edward.
Siyakwazi is a grassroots organisation which was started in 2011, and has grown to a staff of 31. The position of Programmes Manager
is a new position. This person will work closely with the Executive Director as well as the five existing managers, to lead the implementation of all programmes and ensure quality of implementation at every level.
Team management and capacity building are at the core of this role, and the ideal candidate will have deep experience here, and also, importantly, enjoy this aspect of their work. You will provide leadership, mentorship, and support to programme staff, fieldworkers, and interns. The programmes Manager will also facilitate team reflection, training, and ongoing skills development. This is a job for a person who loves being in the field and interacting with people - on a daily basis you will be working with staff, fieldworkers, interns, families, and collaborating with local schools and clinics. A deep understanding of inclusion is also necessary for this role, so as to be able to ensure that inclusion is embedded at every level of service delivery, as well as ensuring that all programme activities are child-centred.
Siyakwazi is currently scaling its programmes and training staff from other organisations to do inclusion work. Part of the role of the Programmes Manager will be curriculum development, training and facilitation. Someone with a background, or strong interest in, curriculum development, training and/or facilitation would be ideal for this role.
It is essential that the person in the role of Programmes Manager is an independent worker who is able to handle a complex workload without frequent oversight. As such, excellent time-management, organisational and coordination skills are extremely important for this role, and this person needs to be extremely reliable and accountable.
The ideal candidate for this role may have a background in therapy (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or speech & language therapy) although this is not required, and people with other backgrounds might be well suited to this role.
Managing project implementation is key to this role, and the person will be tasked with ensuring effective use of organisational resources (financial, material, and human). Another aspect of this role will be collaborating with the Executive Director on planning, budgeting and strategy. The Programmes Manager will also have regular responsibilities associated with monitoring and evaluation of programmes, and donor reporting.
This is a full-time in-person position. This position is ideal for someone who lives on, or is willing to relocate to, the beautiful KZN South Coast. This position is

- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in managing programmes (required), preferably in the disability, education, or community development sectors
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, stakeholder engagement, and working in rural or under-resourced communities.

ROLE PURPOSE
The
Director – Project & Portfolio Management Office
is responsible for overseeing and developing our IT PMO capability.
Twinings Ovaltine is investing heavily technology driven transformation. We are part way through our SAP S/4Hana Transformation Programme and have several other major business transformation programmes in early phases of development. We also have a large portfolio of smaller projects that are in flight or in planning stages and which cover the full range of technology led projects, covering everything from SAP to infrastructure, cyber security & marketing technology.
Our PMO function has a good foundation but needs to rapidly expand from an SAP centric capability based on a waterfall methodology, to one that can deploy our project managers to lead smaller IT projects and agile projects & programmes in the marketing technology & other areas. We also need to establish the PPM capabilities required to effectively prioritise, plan and monitor the execution of this diverse portfolio of digital transformation initiatives.
We need a capable and experienced Programme Management professional to lead our team of project managers and PMO professionals and further develop our PMO function into a world class capability. Provide our executive team with the visibility & control they need to effectively manage & prioritise our transformation agenda.
Location & Travel:
The role is ideally a Cape Town based role, although Hybrid/Remote working may be considered for the right candidate. Infrequent international travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for the PMO function

IntroductionThe primary purpose of this role is to implement small and medium sized projects for the CX Improvement Centre, primarily working in the Contact Centers, the financial and the operational areas within Tracker. The successful candidate will initiate, plan, execute and close projects in an effective and efficient manner. It requires a mature individual who is a self-starter, takes initiative, is analytical, and has good judgment and problem-solving skills. The project coordinator will fulfill the role of the Quality Champion and BCP Champion for the department and will conduct time and motion studies in Tracker Departments, analyzing the information gathered and providing recommendations for process and technological changes.
Job description- Deliver planning requirements for projects before execution commences.
- Drive the implementation of projects, proof of concepts and other initiatives, following the department's processes, rules and quality standards.
- Deliver projects, assigned initiatives and actions according to agreed timelines.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the project environment.
- Conduct time and motion studies, assess and document business processes, and record findings according to agreed standards. Provide written recommendations for improvement.
- Regularly review and refine practices and processes as well as reporting to drive the continuous improvement and insight generation.
- Enroll in the required training and deliver the administrative tasks of the Quality Champion and the BCP Champion.
- Create and maintain documentation using agreed templates in a shared central repository, for projects, time and motion studies and other assigned initiatives.
- Drive continuous learning through collaboration with key stakeholders and by documenting risk, issues and lessons learned.
- Assist with training materials and training of employees in your field of expertise.
- Meet administrative, ad-hoc tasks and reporting requirements, where and when required.
- Matric
- Certification in project management or a similar field of study.
- Desirable: Prince 2, PMBOK or similar PM methodology qualification.
- At least 2 years' project coordination / administration experience, assisting with project implementation and/or events management activities.
- At least 5 years' general work experience, preferably in a Contact Centre environment.
- Produce written documents in English.
- MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio).
- Analytical.
