The Role:

The Structural Engineering Lead is responsible for providing technical project planning, management and oversight for key initiatives and implementation of projects, ensuring that these projects are completed on-time, within scope and budget while applying all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) that enables the business to retain its ISO 9001 accreditation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage buildings projects.
• Responsible for a project in all respects, budgeting, resource allocation, procedures, profitability, quality, and standards.
• Develop and communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project team work to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Undertake Client liaison and communication with all stakeholders of the individual projects.
• Preparation of project plans, conducting project health checks and overseeing the implementation of recovery plans where necessary.
• Technical coordination within the business and with external team members and / or stakeholders.
• Assisting the Business Development team and the relevant Executive in identifying opportunities for tendering, preparation of requests for proposals and full tender proposals.
• Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
• Evaluate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
• Generate relevant reports for projects as required by the business.
• Conduct & attend meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10-15 years’ post first qualification experience in the built environment and at least 5 of these years in a client facing Project Management or Technical Lead role.
• Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/ Technologist.
• Proven track record as Project/Technical Lead on multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projects.
• Project Management experience to manage medium to high rise office, residential, educational, healthcare, commercial and industrial buildings and water retaining structures.
• Experience in contract administration & management of multi-disciplinary building & Infrastructure projects.

A Senior Materials Tester is responsible for supervising and/or carrying out and taking responsibility for testing for all tests that the employee is deemed competent for, strictly in accordance with prescribed methods. A Senior Materials Tester must adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
