We seek a motivated individual to lead hardware and firmware development for avionics and mission computing platforms.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all hardware, firmware, electrical, and electronic activities related to assigned avionics or mission computing modules, including hardware system engineering, electronic hardware, PCB, electrical, firmware development, testing, and integration.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a relevant tertiary qualification.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5-10+ years in electronic hardware development, preferably in airborne electronics
- Electrical / electronic design, product development & qualification skills (functional & environmental)
- Deep knowledge of high-speed digital PCB design
- Hardware testing, debugging, and qualification skills
- System & hardware integration engineering skills
- Experience with all aspects of the system life cycle and engineering management processes
- Proficiency in requirements management tools (Cradle / Jama / Doors preferred)
- Configuration and product lifecycle management skills
- Proficiency in design & simulation software (Altium, Solidworks Electrical, Ansys, MATLAB, LT-SPICE, MS-Visio)

About this Opportunity
RFDS SA / NT's Line Pilots are at the forefront of aeromedical aviation.
Our Pilots are an integral part of a multi-disciplined crew in an organisation that prides itself in providing excellence in vital health care services to people living and working in regional, rural and remote central Australia.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Flight Operations, as our next Line Pilot, you will be inspired to complete flight operations for aeromedical evacuations, inter-hospital patient transfers, and healthcare personnel charter flights across Northern Territory and South Australia.
You'll work with the latest technology in aviation and alongside the best health professionals to provide emergency and primary health care to people in regional, rural, and remote communities across SA and NT.
This will include emergency aeromedical flight services in the outback, delivering charter flights for our primary health care team and associated equipment and complete routine patient transfers.

About You
You are :

To be considered for the role you require :
- CASA CPL (A).
- Minimum total flight hours.
- Minimum hours in command.
- hours of night flying experience.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Recent single pilot IFR (within 2 years).
In addition to the above requirements, your application would be enhanced with :
- Experience in operating aircraft in remote areas.
- Experience flying PC12 or PC24 aircraft.

- Experience and training in emergency retrieval practices.

Drone Operations
- Conduct UAV flights for a variety of applications including stockpile volume measurements, infrastructure inspections, tailings dam monitoring, and environmental audits.
