The Remote Drone Pilot will be responsible for executing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) missions for international clients, leveraging advanced drone operation platforms. Based remotely in Cape Town, the pilot will operate DJI Dock 2/3 Platform drones, semi-autonomously to perform surveillance, inspection, and data collection tasks. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-precision aerial insights while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency in diverse environments.

Key Responsibilities
Drone Operations:
• Execute and oversee remote BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone missions across diverse international airspaces.
• Monitor live drone flights, making real-time adjustments to address operational requirements or unforeseen variables.
• Maintain seamless integration between drone systems and electronic security infrastructure for optimized operational performance.
• Liaise with on-site personnel and local stakeholders to coordinate flight logistics and mission objectives.
• Conduct detailed mission planning with Presales and Technology Engineer, including route analysis and environmental risk evaluation.
• Perform comprehensive pre-flight system checks and risk assessments to ensure mission readiness and safety.
• Analyse flight telemetry and visual data, producing detailed post-mission reports and recommendations for process improvement.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure full compliance with South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations.
• Adhere to international drone operation standards and airspace requirements for each region of operation.
• Stay updated on evolving global drone legislation and implement necessary operational adjustments
Equipment & Safety Management:
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and diagnostics on drone hardware and software systems.
• Ensure all drone equipment, communication systems, and safety protocols are in optimal working condition before and after each mission.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues promptly to avoid operational downtime.
Minimum Requirements (What We Need from You)
• Valid SACAA Remote Pilot License (RPL) with BVLOS rating.
• In-depth knowledge of drone flight regulations and best practices.
• Experience operating remote or autonomous drone systems (e.g., DJI Dock, FlytBase, FlightHub). • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently under pressure.
• Instructor rating and/or prior hands-on BVLOS mission experience is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays to support international operations.

Min required experience
To join our Accelerated Command program, you need:
