The position is primarily based in Stellenbosch, but the candidate should be able to work some shifts in our Cape Town stores if required.

- sales assistant in our retail stores (primarily in Stellenbosch, but should be able to travel to Cape Town occasionally)

- drive retail sales to reach targets

- greet customers pleasantly and assist them to the best of your ability

- tell the customers our brand story

- order stock from our production team

- keep the shop well merchandised

- ensure stock levels are sufficient and best sellers available in store

- keep the shop very neat, tidy and clean

- design marketing / promos / specials ideas - discuss with Management

- daily sales reporting

- refer wholesale / trade enquiries to Management

- assist customers with custom orders and check costing with Management

- follow up with custom orders

- quote customers on shipping when required

- ensure coupons, vouchers, code are correctly redeemed

- suggest new product ideas

REQUIREMENTS:

- at least 5 years experience working in a retail store, preferably selling gifting, lifestyle and homeware products to the tourist and high-end local market

- very energetic and enthusiastic

- able to work at a fast pace

- enjoys working with people

- very presentable and professional

- committed to the job

- always on time

- an interest in design and handcrafting

- ability to take initiative

- strong admin skills

- computer literacy is a bonus

- good attention to detail

- based in Stellenbosch, but able to work in Cape Town occasionally

- available to work weekends and public holidays
