About the Role
Our client, a reputable and well-established General Practice based in Kempton Park, is seeking a dedicated Enrolled Nurse registered with SANC to join their team. The ideal candidate will perform basic nursing duties and health assessments in line with professional standards and scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Vital signs: Take and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration
- Conduct patient assessments and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Preparing and assisting the General Practitioner with minor procedures
- Administering medication (setting up IV lines, IMI injections)
- Wound management - Cleaning and replacing dressings on wounds and surgical sites.
- Taking notes on medical history and symptoms
- Drawing of blood - adults and children
- Provide emotional support and demonstrate empathy and patience, especially with long-term care patients
- Professional communication with families and the patient
- Completion of patient records and medical aid administration
- Deliver high-quality nursing care
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office
- Attention to detail
- Action orientation
- Ethical behaviour

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12/Matric
- Nursing Diploma from a recognised institution
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Must be available to start as soon as possible

- Monday: 08H00 – 17H00
- Tuesday: 08H00 – 13H00
- Wednesday: 08H00 – 17H00

Innovation for the Blind, formerly known as the Institute for the Blind, is a programme of Badisa based in Worcester. We currently have a vacancy for an Enrolled Nurse at our care facility, Ebenhaezer, which provides services to residents with multiple disabilities.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Worcester. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 07:00–16:30, with a daily lunch break of 30 minutes. In addition, an extra shift every second weekend will be required.
Requirements:
· A relevant tertiary qualification.
· Valid and up-to-date registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
· A valid Code B (formerly Code 8) or Code C (formerly Code 10) driving license. For Code C, a minimum of three years' experience is required.
· A Police Clearance or Name Clearance (not older than six months).
· Extensive knowledge of nursing and general caregiving.
· Comprehensive knowledge of medication and medical equipment.
· Fluency in both Afrikaans and English.
Responsibilities:
- Nursing Care: Preparing for and receiving residents, conducting observations, drafting and implementing nursing care plans, providing direct patient care, general caregiving, and collaborating with team members.
- Administration: Record-keeping and stock-taking.
- Electronic Reporting: Knowledge of electronic systems such as M-Files will be an advantage.
- Self-Management and Development: Ongoing personal and professional development.
