• Understanding of ISO standards and implementation experience.
• 10 years production management experience within the Textile Manufacturing industry required.
• Proficient with PC applications, especially experience with in-house applications.
• Excellent communication skills and good command of the English language, with Zulu and French as an added advantage.

Our company is looking for a vibrant and dynamic candidate with a strong background in CMT and/or bag production.

The ideal candidate has:

• A proven track record in managing large teams and improving production output. Strong leadership ability including time/work measurement, performance management, discipline, etc.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in the management of stakeholder relationships, including staff, unions, bargaining councils and the public.
• Proficiency in relevant production principles, systems and tools with solid knowledge of manufacturing processes including garment/bag planning, cutting, construction, sublimation, and printing
• Skills in financial planning, cost control, and resource management

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead & Coordinate daily regular production planning and output to meet delivery targets and quality standards
• Drive cost-effective manufacturing by estimating costs, adjusting production schedules, and managing budgets
• Implement quality assurance systems and continuous improvement initiatives (SAHPRA, ISO)
• Collaborate with senior management to improve efficiency, processes, and company performance
• Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and workplace safety to ensure a compliant and productive environment
• Manage large teams (50+ employees), promoting high performance and accountability using standard HR/IR Processes.
• Foster a culture of skills development, training, succession planning, and staff motivation
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and maintain strong union, bargaining council and stakeholder relationships

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Proven production planning and production management skills
• Proven production staff management experience
• Understanding of quality control
• Team leadership in deadline driven environment
• 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing, with at least 1-2 years at a managerial/team leadership level.
• Senior certificate or similar certificate (commensurate experience accepted on justification).

ADVANTAGEOUS CONSIDERATIONS

• Previous experience in the textile and or bag manufacturing industry.

We are in search of a visionary leader who sets the example of becoming the backbone of our exceptional Production Team. The individual must be able to redefine efficiency and raise the bar for target achievements.

1. Oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations.
2. Work alongside Production Planners to schedule weekly production targets for all six (6) Production lines with a total staff complement of 500.
3. Manage production plan for on-time completion and delivery.

12. Provide Technical expertise support to the Production Lines to eliminate bottlenecks and to ease production flow.
13. Plan, schedule and arrange department forecasts and budget involvement raising Capex requirements too.
