Education and Experience:
- Matric/Grade 12
- National Diploma/Degree in Industrial Engineering
- A recognized advanced CAD qualification
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Responsibilities:
Process Controls:
- Plan, schedule, and monitor production (sales requirements, stock levels, maintenance, changeovers, etc.).
- Schedule and coordinate change-overs according to the production plan (sequence, tool changes, cutting knives, water jet nests, etc.).
- Conduct capacity planning and calculations to determine overtime and planned stop requirements.
Production Management:
- Optimize the production process.
- Maintain manufacturing and production efficiencies.
- Ensure the optimal and efficient use of resources.
- Balance production lines (manning levels).
- Monitor daily production targets.
- Analyze variances and identify improvement opportunities.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems and sub-standard performance.
Project Management:
- Schedule project activities for effective execution.
Raw Material Management:
- Monitor raw material levels to support production.
Lean:
- Train staff on Lean modules.
- Implement Lean principles across factories: 5S, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, Kanban, Constraints Management, TPM, Visual Management, VSM, First Time Right, Rework Reduction.
OEE:
- Drive actions to improve OEE/OPR.
- Develop headcount and capacity planning tools.
- Implement live OEE reporting systems.
CI / Innovation:
- Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train staff to meet KPIs.
- Research new equipment technology and promote innovation.
- Coordinate Kaizen initiatives at plant level.
- Champion problem solving activities using Six Sigma methodology.
- Implement Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor and suggest enhancements to maximize production output.
CAD & Technical Data:
- Create, modify, and maintain CAD drawings.
- Manage CAD data with version control and accessibility.
- Ensure CAD documentation complies with TISAX, IATF, and customer standards.
Best Business Practice (BBP):
- Assist in defining BBP criteria.
- Systemize BBP data collection and reporting.
- Leverage BBP data to implement best practices across plants.
Quality:
- Create comprehensive Control Plan templates.
- Participate in reducing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Analyze audit reports and address recurring deficiencies with process owners.
