Your future role.

  • Participates in project/sales meetings as project core team member to exert a shaping influence at an early stage and to optimize internal workflows and processes.
  • Establishes proper sourcing and Procurement processes and controls all Procurement resources and activities in the project.
  • Analyzes customer inquiries during bid preparation / opportunity management phases and exactly understands the customer's functional needs in order to include (supplier) innovations.
  • Supports project calculation with reliable material cost data.
  • Analyzes scope of supply and contract agreements, carries out risk analyses and introduces negotiation recommendations.
  • Analyzes sales and operations planning in respect of starting / new projects, assessing and controlling of material costs within the whole project business in order to ensure the involvement of Procurement.
  • Drives Procurement strategies in projects and ensures their implementation.
  • Heads up contractual and price negotiations and/or supports the specialist buyers responsible for particular material fields.

  • The basis of your success is a completed Completed Relevant Supply Chain Qualification.
  • Building on this, you have already gained 3 to 5 years of professional experience various supply chain fields.
  • 3 - 5 years SAP Experience
  • Advanced Excel Skills

PLANNING, STRATEGY & RISK

  • Analyze trends and market conditions for the present and future pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity of goods and services - ensuring Red Bull South Africa has the right vendors for current and future growth.
  • Risk management – evaluate supplier risk, respond with mitigation plans, identify alternative suppliers for comparative pricing.
  • Identify and qualify potential new suppliers and ensure relationships with key suppliers are transparent and actively managed.

  • Communicate to relevant internal stakeholders the added value and results that Procurement brings to the organization (incl. monetary and non-monetary benefits).
  • Support departments on large value and high importance procurement initiatives and tenders. Be the main point of contact and drive tenders which will run as frequently as the business requires.

COST MANAGEMENT

  • Cost management - negotiate prices of existing suppliers where applicable to ensure cost optimization.
  • Drive and coordinate efforts to provide transparency on and insights into 3rd party spend.
  • Contribute to cross-regional initiatives to optimize group spend and knowledge.

Overview:

The Procurement Specialist will oversee and optimize the procurement process, manage transactional procurement operations, and supervise tactic-level purchases across various procurement categories. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of procurement activities for farm operations, including developing purchasing strategies and building positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Lead sourcing projects at local, regional, and multi-site levels, coordinating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, assessing them on factors like price, quality, delivery schedules, and authenticity.
  • Monitor and optimize working capital management during the procurement process.
  • Review and analyze multiple quotations, ensuring compliance with policies and assessing item specifications, pricing, and lead time.
  • Negotiate competitive deals without compromising on product quality or delivery schedules.
  • Prepare purchase orders, ensure approvals from accounts and internal audit processes.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with procurement, particularly related to perishable goods and animal feed.
  • Forecast demand for livestock feed, milk processing equipment, and horticultural supplies based on consumption patterns.
  • Coordinate timely deliveries from suppliers, managing lead times and payment processes.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding excess or shortage, and set benchmarks for efficient stock management.
  • Verify deliveries of farm products, including feed, equipment, and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier authenticity, particularly in animal farming and dairy sectors.
  • Develop and implement automated order generation systems to streamline operations
  • Create and maintain a vendor master list for efficient procurement processes

Procurement Manager/ Purchasing Lead

Our client has a track record of nearly 3 decades in the Medical industry! They are a leading South African based distributor of high-quality medical consumables and equipment, working with professionals in both private practice and state health facilities.

They are looking for their next superstar Procurement Manager/ Purchasing Lead!

Duties & Responsibilities

Here is what you’ll do:

  • Be responsible for the effective management and supervision of the Purchasing team including Buyers, Demand Planner, Master Data & Logistics.
  • Drive team to manage supply chain and identify any corrective actions.
  • Ensure Freight costs are managed to optimise costs for the supply chain.
Desired Experience & Qualification

Here’s what you will need:

  • Grade 12 essential plus Bachelors Degree (or higher) in a procurement/ supply chain related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Procurement Manager/ Purchasing Lead from the FMCG Supply Chain industry essential.
  • Navision experience highly advantageous.
  • International exposure working with Freight team.
