  • Capture minutes & generating periodic quality performance reports from engagements between Castrol & its 3P suppliers.
  • Tracking & recording manufacturing Quality Observation Conversations (QOC's) against global performance.
  • Coordinating Inter laboratory Correlation Programe (ILCP) testing samples in the region i.e. collate & report results from participants.
  • F2103/NPI Process
  • Coordinating and tracking efficient execution of F2103 relating to New Product Introduction (NPI) as well as product change activities between technology, marketing, manufacturing and relevant 3rd party manufacturers.

Handling of Customer samples

  • Receiving & distributing customer samples to relevant manufacturers in cases of complaints
  • Tracking customer complaint Root Cause Analysis (RCA) progress and collating data for reporting.

Compliance & Quality Audits

  • Tracking audit findings & following up with 3P's for closure.

Qualification & Skills

Who are we looking for?
Hatch is seeking Chemical Engineering Graduates who will support projects globally.

The Chemical (Metals) group is comprised of a group of professional engineers, designers and technologists. We have experience in the design, construction and commissioning of facilities throughout the world.  We are looking for young engineers eager to be involved in complex small and large-scale engineering projects, and able to demonstrate their keen problem-solving skills in developing practical solutions.

The candidate must be a self-motivated individual capable of working both independently and within a team environment.

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering graduates in Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must be a South African Citizen.
  • You must be a final year student studying towards a BSc or BEng in Chemical Engineering or hold a completed qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • You must have 12 months or less working experience.
  • You must have maintained an average academic achievement of 65% or above.
  • You must attach a copy of your most recent full academic transcript.
  • Be flexible to work in any province within South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bids and tenders for clients – 70% of the time.
• Establish relationships with customers.
• Respond to client enquiries and assess requirements.
• Conduct test work.
• Development of Process Flow Sheets and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
• Advise in terms of process improvement.
• Process design of the required equipment.
• Follow up on submissions and resolve any queries or changes to requirements.
• Process orders received for hand over to the projects team.
• Assist with overseeing the process of commissioning as part of the process team.
• Commissioning on installations to ensure satisfaction.
• General administration in the office.

Desired Experience & Qualification
  • B.Eng. (Chemical Engineering) - ESSENTIAL
  • Minimum Two (2) years’ experience with Mineral Processing equipment such as (Thickeners, Agitators and Mixers, Horizontal Linear Screen, Attrition Scrubbers, Flocculant Plants, and Others).
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport.
  • Solid understanding of flow sheets and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Solid understanding of metallurgical processes.
  • Solid understanding of process engineering.
  • Solid understanding of project management and execution.
