Job Title: Environmental Scientist
Location: Durban
Responsibilities:
- Project management of environmental assessment and monitoring projects
- Develop proposal documents and budgets
- Prepare all reports that are applicable to Applications for Environmental Authorisations and
- Water Use Licence Applications
- Perform evaluations of environmental impacts and apply for water usage licenses.
- Conducting risk assessments and providing recommendations for mitigation strategies
- Producing detailed reports on findings and recommendations
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
Requirements:
- BSc Honours in Environmental Management or related field
- Master's degree in Environmental Management in advantageous
- Registration with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) is mandatory
- Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) is mandatory
- At least 3 to 5 years of consulting experience
- Excellent communication and client liaison abilities
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and legislation
- Experience with mining projects will be advantageous

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, developing and implementing environmental programs, and managing environmental risks at their tank terminal facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on environmental laws and regulations applicable to tank terminal operations
- Developing and implementing environmental management systems and programs
- Conducting environmental audits and assessments at tank terminal facilities
- Identifying and mitigating environmental risks associated with tank terminal operations
- Managing environmental compliance reporting and record-keeping
- Providing environmental training and guidance to tank terminal staff
- Collaborating with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on environmental issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Environmental Management, engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in environmental management or compliance, preferably in a tank terminal or oil and gas industry
