This role will require an individual with a passion for accounting practices, economic principles, applicable laws, codes and regulations, and auditing practices.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

1. Manage the financial record keeping, reporting, tax filing, and other accounting functions for the organization.
2. Ensuring the accounting policies and practices of the organization.
3. Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff.
4. Prepare or lead preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position.
5. Produce accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external use in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

As you will be required to hit the ground running, extensive experience is essential.

Requirements:
Qualification:

• CA(SA) with completed board exams.

• 8 years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and Sox.
• Good knowledge of budget management and financial risk management.

Min Requirements

• 2 years post SAIPA articles (Non-Negotiable)
• BAcc, BCom Accounting, BCompt or equivalent degree
• Completed articles with a medium/small firm preferred
• Working knowledge of CaseWare, Excel, and Word
• Knowledge of accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero)
• Must be willing to work overtime to meet client deadlines
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license

• Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE, and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis
• Preparation and Review of management accounts
• Manage and supervise SAIPA staff to achieve set goals
• Provide daily assistance, guidance, and training regarding bookkeeping, related taxes, and SARS submissions to SAIPA Trainees
• Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements
