iMasFinance is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team and take charge of ensuring sound financial practices, compliance with legislation, credit control, funding strategy and optimizing financial stability. If you have a strong background in corporate financial accounting and reporting, developed and implement funding strategies, risk management and leadership, and experience on executive and Board level, this may be a suitable opportunity for you.
Extensive experience in funding strategy, structuring and negotiation is essential. This involves overseeing the entire process of securing capital, which involves finding potential sources and designing the optimal funding mix to meet the organization's needs.
Additional to the funding, first-hand experience in creating and implementing effective debt collection strategies and processes to improve recovery rates, minimize bad debt and enhance overall efficiency is a definite requirement.
In addition to managing the funding strategy and debt collection of iMasFinance, the CFO also oversees the finance function, credit vetting, legal, compliance and enterprise risk management functions, which report into the finance organisational structure.
ResponsibilitiesAs the CFO, you will be responsible for:
- Corporate Strategy:
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the overall corporate strategy.
- Regularly report to the Board, Committees and ExCo on performance against the strategy.
- Provide valued input aligned with business needs, ensuring strategy implementation within agreed timelines and costs.
- Regulatory Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements set by regulators (e.g., Financial Intelligence Centre, NCR).
- Implement risk and compliance plans, monitoring programs regularly.
- Collaborate with auditors and assurance providers to finalize audits, compliance reports, and Integrated Report.
- Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership, ensuring execution of the company's vision and strategic objectives.

- People Management:
- Ensure fair HR practices, manage EE profile and targets, oversee talent retention and succession planning.
- Manage team performance, development of direct reports, and organizational culture.

- Stakeholder Relations:

- Accounting:
- Ensure effective accounting systems, financial reporting, and compliance with legislation.
- Compile and integrate budgets, providing strategic guidance to business units.
- Financial Management:
- Monthly management of cash flow, compilation of annual financial statements, and management of operational ratios.
- Provide guidelines on business insurance and asset protection.
- Funding (Treasury):
- Raise funds at affordable rates from capital markets and banks.
- Manage current structures, investigate new effective structures, and maintain relationships with investors and banks.
- Tax:
- Maintain organized tax records, ensure compliance with tax requirements, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Forecast provisional tax submissions and ensure timely and accurate filing of required tax returns.
- Credit Granting:
- Assess credit applications, oversee credit department performance, and provide ongoing training.
- Chair the iMasFinance Credit Committee and review the Corporate Credit Policy annually.
- CA (Essential / Minimum)
- Certificate/Diploma in Treasury (Recommended / Desirable)

- Completed articles and a Chartered Accountant certification with institutes like SAICA or another equivalent internationally recognised accountancy institute is a prerequisite.
- Master of Business Administration or similar NQF 9 qualification will be an added advantage.
- Current and active membership and / or professional certification with a Chartered Accountancy institute is required for this role.
- A combined experience of not less than (minimum of) 8 (eight) years experience in financial management reporting in a complex and highly regulated environment with at least 5 of those must have been in a senior financial management role.
- Proven experience in leading and directing finance and accounting teams in achieving clean audit / unqualified audit results with no major non-compliance audit findings.
- Demonstrated experience in reporting to executives and boards on governance risk compliance and control matters; and in key finance and investments business processes.
- Knowledge of higher education sector the SDA SDLA and the PFMA are essential.
- Understanding of the Treasury Regulations Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act of 2017 and the BBBEE Act.

A premier Financial Services firm is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer to join their executive team. Provide strategic leadership on financial matters and oversee financial activities within the company, by providing professional and ethical financial practices and delivering an effective finance service offering that is aligned with business and Group Finance strategy; ensuring the sustained profitability of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead and direct the finance function within the company in support of business objectives
- Keep abreast of trends, legislation and best practices within the financial management field in order to optimize service offering and delivery.
- Collaborate with senior management to formulate short and long-term strategic financial objectives and operating strategies for the business, in line with the overall business strategy of the company, as well as the overall financial strategy of the Group. Oversee the design of effective and efficient futuristic financial modeling in support of the business strategy and new business ventures.
- Support the development of new business initiatives by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, unpacking the financial implications and making recommendations regarding the financial viability of new business.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial impact and requirements of long range planning, introduction of new products / business and regulatory environment to support the realization of the business strategy.
- Provide executive management within the company, with advice on the financial implications of business activities, and provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. Contribute to the design and development of Group Finance strategies, policies and practices and oversee the implementation of finance strategies, policies and practices within the segment.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance functions (accounting, tax, capital management etc.) of the company, ensuring healthy financial management within the segment. Build and maintain effective business relationships with Group Finance in order to manage service delivery in line with business expectations and requirements.
- Establish and comply with finance governance principles and structures within the segments in line with finance best practice (GAAP, IFRS etc.).
- Manage and minimize the companys financial risk exposure by developing and maintaining systems of internal controls, liaising with Risk Management functions as appropriate.
- Support the planning and management of internal audit activities in collaboration with the risk team.
- Provide direction for continuous improvement efforts by managing the identification of opportunities, cost reduction, improvement and systems enhancement.
- Understand the profitability and growth drivers for the business and ensure that the key insights are well understood by the management team.
- Ensure that sound financial controls and practices are in place within the segment and in the respective products and solutions centre of excellence to ensure the segment deliver on its stated financial objectives.

- Ensure the integrity of data and systems to enable accurate financial reporting.
- Present a complete analysis of financial results including strategic and tactical insights and recommendations to executive committees and boards.
- Manage the timely and accurate submission of statutory reports to the relevant authorities and governing bodies.
- Engage with the Financial Services Board (FSB) to resolve any financial queries regarding statutory reports.
- Act as a spokesperson for the segment on matters relating to financial management and analysis.
- Implement and manage financial risk methodologies, techniques and systems and use them to monitor and report on financial activities.
- Implement risk management, governance and compliance policies in their own practice area, to identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability.

- Registered chartered accountant with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
- 10 years post qualification experience in financial management in an insurance and financial services environment.
