We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the test effort's success by driving quality and test advocacy, resource planning and management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort. You will act as a trusted advisor and specialist resource that provides leadership in all quality engineering related activities, including providing guidance on opportunities to improve quality, approach, and strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Coordinate all reporting requirements, including test status, defect monitoring and resolution, risks, and metrics definition across all quality engineering activities to ensure that the state of quality engineering is clearly communicated and documented.
  • Ensure that quality engineering practices are aligned to strategic Build initiatives (i.e., Agile, CI, TDD) so that modern engineering practices are continuously employed.
  • Ensure that the necessary tools and environments are available for quality engineering activities so that test execution activities can progress seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Conduct integration testing to ensure that the tested product works end-to-end and create test stubs and drivers with Developers to facilitate test execution.
  • Create and maintain a portfolio of evidence detailing all executed tests and attach it in the appropriate tool to ensure a detailed record of test execution is kept.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in testing is a must.
  • Proficiency in quality control methodologies.
  • Scripting: Ability to write scripts to automate test cases and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and quality management systems.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement techniques.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in using statistical analysis software and quality management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards before reaching our clients.

    What You’ll Do

    • Develop, document, and execute test plans and test cases.
    • Perform manual testing to identify bugs and usability issues.
    • Collaborate closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine our QA processes.
    • Ensure all testing aligns with the software development lifecycle.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience in test execution and manual testing.
    • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to create, document, and execute test cases.
    • Understanding of QA processes and methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (a plus).
    • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (a plus).
