Job Description
- Matric with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar logistics, warehousing, or stock control role
- A qualification in International Freight Management, Transport Economics, or Supply Chain Management will be an advantage
- Sound understanding of international import supply chain processes
- Familiarity with domestic warehousing and courier operations
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel and SharePoint
- Strong administrative and numerical accuracy skills
- Good commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Experience using CRM and ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central advantageous)
- Professional communication skills with strong written and spoken English
- Assist with the coordination and tracking of international inbound shipments
- Receive stock, monitor waybills, and maintain accurate shipment records
- Communicate with overseas suppliers (primarily China) and freight forwarders
- Monitor customs clearance and escalate issues when necessary
- Coordinate with outsourced warehouse and courier partners
- Manage the receipting, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods
- Ensure shipments arrive as planned and that stock is checked, unpacked, and relabelled correctly
- Maintain the store area and manage consumable orders
- Record and control all stock movements leaving the warehouse
- Prepare and update supplier, freight, and courier reports
- Track production and shipment timelines to meet agreed ex-factory dates
- Consolidate freight by managing factory shipping schedules proactively
- Complete freight forwarder reports and perform freight cost and profit analysis
- Conduct regular cost comparisons for inbound and outbound shipments
- Coordinate the annual freight tender process
- Manage and organise supply chain documentation efficiently
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, efficiency, and profitability
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
- Maintain a responsive and professional approach to all internal and external business interactions
- Participate actively in business improvement projects and initiatives

Logistics Co-Ordinator
Our client is a leader in the logistics industry is seeking a Logistics Co-Ordinator to join their team.
The purpose of the position is to ensure optimal container placement on scheduled vessels, aligned with client specifications and shipping timelines
Location: Cape Town
Job type: Permanent – on site
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing vessel options to clients in order to plan loads
- Discuss forecast and provisional bookings with client in order to confirm/cancel
- Discuss and confirm booking recon with client for following day loads
- Communicate any operational issues that may affect clients loads
- Handle same day bookings
- Receive bookings and update Navision
- Book containers with shipping lines (including housebills)
- Submit booking to Intrra to all non-manual and housebill bookings
- Chase booking confirmation with shipping line and check accuracy once received and file correctly
- Insert booking ref's in Navision
- Liaise with transporters and loading points regarding availability of possible timeslots
- Generate Q67 booking in Navision and send to applicable parties
- Send out release requests to housebills or shipping line
- Check on empty depot releases and update Navision
- Make necessary arrangements with DAFF/PPECB/Bureau Veritas (check if Import Permit required)
- Request FCM verification code for EU shipments
- Handle out of ordinary operational challenges (plug in, LAR, short shipments, stack shuffle)
- Follow up with loading depots and transporters on current day's loadings times
- Chase outstanding VGM details from all haulage & client and sent to pre-advise
- Follow up on preloading inspection bookings to ensure inspections done and relevant documents signed (DAFF/PPECB/Bureau Veritas/SGS)
- General day to day queries and escalate to Log Manager where appropriate
- Communicate any delays experienced with the load/s to all affected parties
- Hand invoice source to Log Manger for sign off, hand to Finance and insert finalization date on Navision
- Capture deviations and forward to responsible party
Minimum Requirements
- Matric as a minimum qualification
- 2-3 Years experience in a similar position
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of Navison
- Knowledge of INTTRA
