Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior and Junior Traffic Safety Officers, based in Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The Senior Traffic Safety Officer will oversee daily traffic safety operations at various construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and optimal traffic flow. Responsibilities include coordinating with project managers, supervising traffic controllers, implementing traffic safety plans, and managing traffic control equipment. The officer will also conduct risk assessments, monitor the effectiveness of traffic management systems, and provide training to staff on safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Traffic Safety Management, Traffic Control, and implementing Traffic Accommodation plans.
- Strong knowledge of road construction safety regulations and Temporary Road Traffic Management (TRTM) systems
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in managing and training staff
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop traffic safety strategies
- Proficiency in using traffic control equipment and software systems
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Relevant certifications in roadworks traffic management and traffic safety officer.
