An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant within our busy Colposcopy unit at Wycombe Hospital, part of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
You will be part of a leading service for early cervical cancer detection in Buckinghamshire. A colposcopy is often performed following abnormal cervical screening results caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), which can lead to cervical cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure clinics are prepared and ready to provide efficient, professional services.
- Communicate with patients and visitors to promote comfort and well-being.
- Coordinate with team members and respond appropriately.
- Perform basic observations: blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, urinalysis, and accurately record results.
- Assist with specimen collection for laboratory analysis and forward specimens as directed.
- Act as a chaperone when required to protect patient and colleague interests, maintaining patient dignity and privacy.
- Advocate for patients.
- Manage own workload and prioritize tasks.
- Assist with manual handling and patient transfers in accordance with Trust policies.
- Report accidents or incidents to the nurse in charge and complete necessary documentation.
- Guide patients to other wards or departments as needed.

Wycombe Hospital Operating Theatres are looking for a Theatre Support Worker to join our friendly team. As the elective surgery site for the Trust, we support operations across a range of specialities, including ENT, General surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Plastic surgery, Robotic surgery and Urology.
You will be supporting the care of patients undergoing operations under the direction of a registered nurse or operating department practitioner and contribute to their ongoing support. Successful candidates will support theatre practitioners in the delivery of patient focused care in our varied clinical surgical teams.
If shortlisted, you will be required to undertake an assessment, that should take approximately 15 minutes.
· Participate in circulating duties under the supervision of trained theatre staff.
· Collect sets and instruments for operating lists.
· Makes requests to the Sterile Services Department for instrumentation required.
· Maintain stock levels in theatre and preparation areas.
· Work as a member of the theatre team.
· To maintain stocks of specimen containers, slides and forms from the Pathology department.
· Carry out date checks on sterile instruments and report any discrepancies.
· To assist with the calculation of blood loss for patients in theatre and report promptly to the scrub nurse excessive loss.
· Able to stand for long periods of time and engage in frequent moving and handling of patients, equipment and instrument trays.

We are looking for a nurse to join our TB team.
We have a Band 6 post for a Community TB Support Nurse, working alongside the Band 7 TB Nurse Specialist and consultant lead.
This is a Monday to Friday post, 8am-4pm, and does not include Bank Holidays.
The post holder will be based at Wycombe Hospital but will be expected to travel to various Trust sites and visit patients as needed within Buckinghamshire.
We manage a corporate caseload of clients, providing care in their homes.
A valid driving licence is essential, as the role requires travel to BHT venues, community centres, and patient homes within Buckinghamshire.
The post holder will provide specialist TB input supporting the service pathway within acute, community, and outpatient settings, using highly developed specialist practice underpinned by theoretical knowledge.
The role encompasses all aspects of individualised care for our clients, including contact tracing, DOT/VOT under guidance from N.I.C.E.
It involves nurse-led clinics, initiating diagnostic tests, and commencing patients on active and LTBI treatment.
We also offer an in-reach service to hospitals and are part of the Thames Valley TB Network with UKHSA.
Advice and support are provided to patients and their carers, including education and self-management support.
The role involves supporting skills and knowledge development in community nursing and acute care, providing specialist clinical expertise, mentoring, and working collaboratively to improve patient and staff experiences.
