The successful candidate will provide Primary Healthcare services and assist the Medical Doctors within the facility to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinical operations.

This role is suited to a confident and patient-focused nurse who is comfortable working independently within scope while collaborating closely with doctors in a busy primary care setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, triage, and vital observations.

  • Provide Primary Healthcare services within scope of practice.

  • Administer prescribed medication, injections, and immunisations.

  • Perform wound care, dressings, and basic clinical procedures.

  • Assist Medical Doctors during consultations and minor procedures.

  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.

  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies within the facility.

Patient Management & Education

  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication compliance, and preventative care.

  • Promote health awareness and disease prevention initiatives.

  • Support follow-up care and chronic disease monitoring programmes.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with SANC regulations and infection prevention protocols.

  • Manage and monitor clinical stock and medical supplies.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with Medical Doctors and multidisciplinary team members.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Contribute to maintaining a professional, safe, and efficient healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered Nurse qualification.

  • Active registration with SANC (Essential).

  • 2–3 years' experience in Primary Healthcare or a GP practice.

  • Strong clinical assessment skills.

  • Computer literate (experience with electronic medical systems is advantageous).

  • Own reliable transport.
