About the role:

The Quality team at Zepz is responsible for ensuring a first class experience for our customers. The Zepz applications, Worldremit and Sendwave are used across the globe at significant scale and the impact of your work is seen by millions.

You will lead this team and foster a culture of quality and automation. You will need to be a team player who can communicate well. You will own the quality of our mobile applications and be relentless on the quality we serve our customers.

Technologies & Environment:
  • We are building out our microservice architecture in Java/Kotlin using cloud-based technologies in AWS and k8s to manage software deployments.
  • We put a strong emphasis on automation, unit/integration testing and performance testing. We also aim to be data driven in our decision making so building our service from the ground up supporting collection of such data is a must.
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will:
  • Develop talent within the team.
  • Create a positive and high-performing environment.
  • Ensure the team is aligned on company priorities, goals, and OKRs.
  • Engage in hands-on participation in Engineering tasks such as coding, peer reviews, and building automation tests.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for your team and facilitate the inclusion of team members as required.
  • Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters to foster engagement, focus, responsibility, and motivation in the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, translating requirements into test cases and specs for test engineers to automate.
  • Control quality gates to ensure a first class experience for our customers
  • Coordinate mobile releases and feature inclusion
What you bring to the table:

Leadership

  • Technical ownership of our test frameworks
  • Champion a mindset focused on maintaining a high standard for quality and operational resilience.
  • Lead cross-team efforts, highlighting areas of improvement and driving execution.
  • Motivate team members, drive engagement and steer professional development.
  • Have strong communications and presentation skills, be comfortable with presenting at the executive level.

Technical

  • Any software engineering / coding experience
  • Experience with Appium
  • Experience with testing services such as REST, GRPC or GraphQL

Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience working in a Financial or FinTech space
  • Have experience working in a distributed team across different geographies and timezones
