The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and overseeing the daily dispatch function including scheduling, vehicle loading, route allocation, and delivery tracking. The role also involves managing dispatch documentation, ensuring compliance, and maintaining effective communication between warehouse teams, drivers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement weekly delivery schedules aligned to order volumes and customer requirements
- Coordinate and manage daily dispatches from order preparation through to final delivery
- Verify accuracy and completeness of delivery documentation and loads
- Assign deliveries to drivers based on route planning and load capacities
- Monitor dispatch operations using tracking systems and respond to route or timing issues
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day to ensure smooth delivery execution
- Liaise with customers regarding delivery scheduling, confirmations, or potential delays
- Ensure that all dispatch documentation (delivery notes, invoices, PODs) is accurately maintained
- Manage and track CHEP pallet movements and documentation
- Conduct pre-dispatch vehicle and driver compliance checks

- Assist with identifying areas for operational improvement

- Experience using dispatch tracking software (Trackmatic advantageous)
- Basic understanding of route planning and vehicle utilisation
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics or Transport (advantageous)
- Industry knowledge in consumer or pet products is beneficial

This position will be operating on shift as part of a team who will execute 24 hours and 7 days a week. Responsibilities:
Daily, Live Execution Management of all routes for assigned Business Unit (BU) Route Execution & Tracking:
• Live visibility and tracking of all routes within the BU on Cella Track
• Tracking and investigation of all “Late” routes
• Tracking Route Compliance, Planned vs Actual KM and Planned vs Actual TAT Alert & Exception Management:
• Acknowledgement & Resolution of Alert pop-ups on Cella for applicable BU
• Driver communication and relationship
• Driving corrective action with driver
• Ensure correct escalation processes are being followed
• Actioning alerts according to priority & urgency, i.e. Risk Alert is treated with higher urgency than an Execution Alert. Master Data:
• Be aware and keep log of all master data or system issues that might cause inaccurate route tracking
