Job Description

This role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager.

Position purpose : The Financial Reporting Manager plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial accounting and reporting function.

Responsibilities
  • The annual financial statements are accurate and in compliance with IFRS and relevant laws and regulations, and the incumbent advises the business on accounting matters.
  • Ensure technical compliance with all appropriate accounting standards and reporting regulations, including strict management of tax compliance activities in the countries where the company operates, inclusive of budgeting, forecasting and other financial planning activities.
  • Enhance existing financial, accounting and control systems, policies, and procedures with an emphasis on using technology to maximise efficiencies.
  • Analyse trends and implement actions to optimise process and performance standards within the section.
  • Build and maintain a network across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Formulate clear deliverables for the financial reporting section.
Accountability and deliverables
  • Finance reporting team
    • Manage a team of direct reports and ensure the team is resourced and capable of supporting the business with technical accounting questions as they arise.
  • Financial reporting and statutory returns
    • Review monthly, interim and annual HFM/AFC reporting and ensure adherence to IFRS, company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Cash position and dividend reporting
    • Accurate and complete presentation of the Company’s cash position and dividend value for declaration to shareholders. Manage the preparation of cash flows, forecasting and reporting.
  • Accounting policies and compliance
    • Formulate the accounting policies of the company in accordance with IFRS and align to Group policies; present to the financial manager for approval.
  • Taxation management
    • Prepare the budget, forecast and annual income tax pack and tax liability of the company.
  • Payroll accounting: Manage payroll accounting requirements.
  • External and internal audits: Manage the external and internal audits of the company.
  • Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment: Manage the total quarterly vendor spend based on the preliminary split of vendor spend and report to procurement pillar lead.
  • Respect and ethical standards: Maintain high ethical standards both personally and professionally.
Qualifications
  • CA (SA) with 3 years of post-article experience and solid exposure to accounting and corporate taxation.
  • An appropriate honours in Finance or Commercial qualification would be considered.
  • Experience in consolidations, interim and year-end reporting.
  • Experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team to deliver against targets.
  • Track record in driving continuous improvement.
Knowledge & Experience
  • 3 years’ experience in management capacity.
  • Advanced Accounting Package/Software and Systems knowledge and skills – HFM, HSF/OneStream and SAP.
  • Proven track record of practical experience in a role of similar complexity.
  • Advanced financial reporting and consolidation knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge and application of IFRS.
  • Financial analysis aptitude and ability to provide quality recommendations and solutions.

International travel may be required.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, including directors, and collaborate with team members to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and strategic insight. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated Power BI reports and dashboards; continuously improve data pipelines and visualization for real-time decision-making
  • Build, maintain, and enhance detailed cash flow reports; ensure reporting aligns with business goals and provides actionable insights
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts in support to the Financial Manager; provide assistance to the Financial Manager with regard to legal compliance reporting, such as SARB and SARS (e-filing and the like)
  • Process Optimisation: Analyse existing financial reporting processes and identify opportunities for automation; implement streamlined workflows to enhance reporting accuracy and reduce manual effort
  • Presentation & Communication: Create compelling, data-driven presentations for directors and senior stakeholders such as Wealth Managers; communicate complex financial insights clearly and effectively
  • Step into support role for the team when they are on leave (with regards to processing and financial management)
  • Project Management: Lead and manage reporting-related projects with strong organizational skills; work directly with Finance Manager on special initiatives and cross-functional projects

  1. Oversee the full finance function, ensuring seamless operations across financial activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Business Partnering with Sales and Operational leads in the Business. This will involve significant daily interaction with colleagues to provide accurate forecasting as well as understanding the key financial implications of the actions of the business.
  • Produce accurate forecasts of costs and benefits.
  • Review reported performance against targets and ensure that the key drivers of variances are explained.
  • Ensure revenue invoices are in line with contract and resolve queries.
  • Review forecast against Business Plan and previous forecast targets and ensure key drivers of variances are explained. Hold monthly meetings with the business and verbally explain the variances.
  • Support onshore with management information and finance decision support as part of their growth plans.
  • Support 100% cost recovery through utilisation, cost control, FTE mix and management of the chargeable rate card.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly reporting. Ensure accurate representation of the P&L, post all required ledger entries along with reconciliations of all Working capital, WIP, DI, Accruals and Prepayments, and maintain cash flow reconciliations.
  • Deliver monthly scheduled and ad-hoc reporting to tight deadlines.
  • Provide pricing and business case support as required.
  • Assist the onshore finance team in streamlining existing processes and designing new reports and processes where necessary. Be proactive in providing feedback and the delivery of ideas to develop and improve solutions.
  • Lead in calls with the onshore stakeholders, liaising with internal / external auditors during annual / half yearly closures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
  • Lead and train team members on various tasks and oversight of their responsibilities.
Essential:
