Overall Purpose of the Role
Zutari's Transport Unit, Transport Planning Section in Tshwane is seeking an Engineer who specialises in Traffic & Transport Engineering to join our Transportation Planning section. This is a great opportunity in Tshwane for an engineering professional looking to move to a dynamic transportation planning environment with a diverse palette of projects.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Working with and supporting a team of experienced and specialist Traffic and Transport Engineers.
- Technical management of transport engineering projects, which range from small traffic impact assessments through major public transport planning, strategic transport plans (master plans), demand forecast and traffic modelling.
- A key requirement will be a strong traffic modelling capability, specifically with the modelling software packages of AIMSUN, VISSIM and VISUM.
- Providing primary client liaison in respect of some projects.
- Participation in the administration of projects in line with company requirements.
- Lead or assist with compiling tenders for any Transport Planning/Traffic Engineering related opportunities.
- Contributing to the professional development of junior team members.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/BSc degree in Civil Engineering. A postgraduate engineering qualification would be advantageous.
- Professional Engineer registration with ECSA.
- Minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in Civil Engineering with a broader interest in Transportation planning and traffic engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects in the traffic and transport engineering environment.
- Demonstrated ability of developing traffic models in the last five years.
- Ability to develop and enhance client relationships.
