Responsibilities:
Project Development:
- Support Project Developers managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for new projects, focusing on mitigating environmental risks.
- Ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards from project initiation.
- Assist in drafting Environmental Management Program Reports (EMPr) and maintain up-to-date knowledge on environmental legislation.
- Support biodiversity offsets and manage a biodiversity legal database.
Business Development:
- Address environmental gaps in lender due diligence and ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards.
- Adapt Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) to project-specific contexts.
Project Implementation:
- Develop and oversee compliance checklists for pre-construction and mitigation measures.
- Manage contracts with external Environmental Control Officers (ECO) and Environmental Specialists (ESO).
- Review reports and collaborate on solutions to environmental challenges.
Asset Management:
- Ensure all company assets comply with environmental regulations and management plans.

Requirements:
Must-have Qualifications and Certifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science/Management, Geography, or related field.
- Candidate should have SACNASP / EAPASA certification.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:
- Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or related field.
- Professional SACNASP / EAPASA certification.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in environmental roles.
- Preferably 8+ years with experience in the Renewable Energy sector.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of NEMA, environmental laws, and guidelines.
- Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and Equator Principles.
- Skills in environmental monitoring, auditing, and contractor management.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills advantageous.
Leadership Competencies:
- Capable of managing and supervising external environmental team members.

The Site Supervisor oversees daily site operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. Responsibilities include managing operatives, maintaining plant and equipment, coordinating stock and waste movements, and meeting operational targets. The role requires adherence to HSEQ standards, accurate record-keeping, and effective communication with stakeholders, while maintaining a clean and organised site. The successful candidate will have 3–5 years of recent and relevant supervisory or team leader experience in a waste management and recycling setting.
