Job Purpose

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the national warehouse & distribution strategy aligned with BevCos sales, supply chain, and financial objectives.

Monitor service performance, enforce penalties/incentives, and build long-term strategic partnerships.

Financial Management

Own the W&D budget (ZAR 500m+), delivering productivity and cost savings while maintaining service standards.

Ensure compliance with procurement governance and B-BBEE supplier development targets.

Risk, Compliance & Security

Qualifications and Experience

Role Summary/Purpose

Own day-to-day warehouse operations in the Boksburg plant, ensuring accurate inventory, smooth inbound/outbound flows, and high service levels to our customers. Responsibilities:

  • Run daily warehouse operations and relationships with 3PLs: resolve stock discrepancies between plant and warehouses (WMS), manage inbound/outbound flows, ensure CHEP pallet availability, maintain housekeeping and MHE readiness, and swiftly resolve issues to avoid operational impact.
  • Lead warehouse resource and performance management: oversee capacity/utilization, supervise warehouse and admin staff (including temporary staffing), conduct weekly 5S audits, manage pallet hire, MHE utilization, scorecards/KPIs, and address security issues.
  • Coordinate replenishment and transfers: manage daily shuttles to main warehouses, plan depot transfers, prioritize urgent stock to mother warehouse/backhaul/toll packers, improve vehicle utilization and turnaround time, and oversee staff sales stock transfers.
  • Safeguard inventory integrity: perform daily factory-to-WMS reconciliations, reconcile reworks, own cycle counts and monthly stock counts/variance investigations, reconcile CHEP pallets/portal updates, manage quarantines with accurate batch records, and reconcile staff sales.
  • Uphold Quality and EOHS standards: maintain highest safety standards, conduct daily/weekly/monthly audits (including temperature logging), complete daily MHE inspections, drive continuous improvement, and ensure all training requirements are met.
  • Manage stock-on-hold and disposals: move QI stock to 3PLs, coordinate releases with the Technical team, segregate EMO/rejected stock, reconcile daily batch releases, and ensure safe disposal of rejected/written-off stock including trade returns; achieve service KPIs such as Case Fill 97%, On-Time Delivery 98%, POD within 14 days, and 2-hour turnaround time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Operations Management.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in FMCG logistics environments covering warehouse operations, inventory control, customer service management, and stock control.

Our client is looking for an experienced National  Warehouse and Logistics Manager to oversee their various Warehouses. (JHBG, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, KZN, Port Elizabeth & East London). This is an Equity appointment. Candidates must reside in Johannesburg and be willing to travel from time to time.

FOCUS AREAS:

Rolling Stock Count - oversee and manage the periodic counts ensuring that an efficient process is in placeTraining and Development - assessment and development of all warehouse staff. Measurable improvement of staff performanceLogistics - review, update, and implement policies. Cost savings, inventory accuracy, optimal workflowReporting - accurate data reporting to assist with business decisionsTeam Effectiveness - the achievement of team goals and organizational objectives

Control the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time.

Management of:

- the warehouse

- inventory control

- material handling

- customer service (Deliveries & Logistics)

- corporate fleet and fuels cards - management and investigation

- Overseeing warehousing and logistics for all branches

Experience in Occupational Health and Safety

Reporting on related budgets, expenses, progress of tasks etc.

Above average organisational skills

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Source and negotiate costs for local shipping suppliers

Improve the efficiency of the supply chain.

Technical skills:

Requirements

Qualification and requirements:

Relevant BA DegreeIn current role for more than 3 yearsWorked in a warehouse manager environment for more than 5 yearsDemonstrate Leadership capabilitiesKnowledge of transport/fleet/warehouse managementSouth African Citizen

Skills & Experience:

ACCPAC / SAGE 300 experienceGranite experience an advantageAbility to work well under pressure / frequent interruptionsWillingness to take responsibility.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Self-motivated individualAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writingEstablish and maintain an effective working relationship and continued learning cultureLeadership and conflict management skillsCommunication and training skillsCritical thinking, problem-solving, planning, and teamworkExtensive knowledge of warehousingThorough knowledge of ordering, storage, receiving, issue and shipping methodsAt least 3 years in a similar positionExperience with Team Management and HR responsibilitiesQualifications in Staff Management, Training and Development and Warehouse Management are non-negotiableKnowledge of Granite Software System will be a bonusKnowledge and experience in a medical company environment will be preferable #LI-AL1Benefits100% Medical Aid Contribution100% Provident Fund Contribution
