Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Mathematics Education.

Participate in social impact projects in Mathematics Education and render appropriate services to the University and teaching community.
Participate in academic administration and leadership.

Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Supervise Post Graduate students
Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed academic journals / academic platforms.
Participate in academic and community engagements.

CORE COMPETENCIES
Expert knowledge in the theory and applications of Mathematics Education as a specialized area.
Actively engage in sustained research projects, whether self-initiated or as part of a research team.
Maintain a strong record of publishing regularly in accredited national and international journals, contributing to books, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
Present research papers at academic and professional conferences, with increasing participation at the international level.
Contribute to a substantial body of scholarly work over time that significantly impacts the discipline.
Produce original work recognized nationally and internationally, contributing to critical debates within the field.
Successfully supervise a significant number of Masters and Doctoral candidates, with research outcomes that have made meaningful contributions to knowledge creation.

Conduct scholarly work with a growing emphasis on the Africanization and decolonization of Mathematics Education.
Proficiently navigate and utilize the Moodle Learning Management Systems (LMS) to facilitate effective online teaching and learning experiences. This includes showing expertise in managing course materials, assignments, and assessments within the LMS platform and providing technical support to students and colleagues. Additionally, demonstrate proficiency in customizing and optimizing the LMS interface to enhance user experience and engagement.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written), good facilitation, training and presentation skills.
Demonstrate the ability to generate third-stream income or successfully apply for grant funding.
REQUIREMENTS
A relevant PhD with Mathematics Education as the focus;
A strong background in Mathematics (Mathematics 3 or equivalent);
At least 10 years of teaching experience at an institution of higher education;
A teaching qualification;
Evidence of recent publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Evidence of postgraduate supervision at Honours, Masters and Doctoral level in Mathematics Education and other related fields;
Experience in teaching mathematics education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Experience and/or knowledge of technology-aided education;
National Research Foundation (NRF) C-rating would be an advantage.
Departmental and/or Faculty leadership and management experience.
Ability to generate third-stream income or successfully apply for grant funding
