About the role
To initiate, plan and achieve Haleon’s ambition of becoming one of the most innovative, best performing, and trusted Consumer Healthcare Companies in South Africa. To plan, direct and co-ordinate all strategic and marketing activities of the portfolio of brands the person is responsible for, to achieve consumption growth, sales, profit, and marketing objectives.

Strategic Planning
- In order that the overall company and strategic brand objectives are achieved, delivers, and executes strategic long, medium- and short-term plans for brands by:
- Developing strategies that will deliver the 3-year consumption, sales, profit, and marketing objectives for the categories.
- Analysing past performance, economic variables etc. against the backdrop of world-wide portfolio, growth, and profit objectives, in collaboration with BU/Category Teams.
- Ensure development and execution of detailed 1-year plans for all the brands in the category which will ensure the achievement of strategic objectives, in partnership with BU/Category Teams and aligned agencies.
Operational Execution:
- In order that plans are successfully implemented, and commercial and business objectives are met, directs and co-ordinates the implementation and achievement of agreed plans by:
- Providing advice and direction for Brand Team
- Embedding continuous learning from successes and failures
- Initiating and coordinating progress on all projects
- Facilitating implementation with other functions within the organisation as well as with aligned agencies.
Data & Analytics:
- To determine potential impact on plans as well as identify future opportunities, monitor, analyse and evaluate marketplace developments relating to:
- Own and competitive developments
- Sales and supply chain performance
- Consumer, Expert and Customer behaviour
Agility
- Adapts/replans to accommodate deviations / changes in market conditions by devising and implementing new action plans, to ensure the brands, retain their competitive advantage.
Team Effectiveness
- Maintain the highest standards of team effectiveness within the team, across functions and with BU/Category Team.
People Leadership:
- Coach and develop direct reports
- Motivate and support the team through appropriate reward and recognition programmes

- Consulting and working with other functions and departments to address and resolve issues such as distribution, production, R&D, sales performance, etc.
- Liaising with the BU/Category organisation regarding best practices, global strategies, R&D etc.
- Develop a loyal consumer franchise for the company’s brands by creating positive brand perceptions, associations, and usage experiences, through tools such as advertising, promotion and supply chain management, in order to build strong brands and ensure the long-term profitability of the company.

Qualifications and skills
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing or Business
- 10 years experience in a similar environment relating to Pharma/FMCG
- Proven track record of developing and implementing brand strategies that will deliver long term strategic and profit objectives as well as grow and nurture strong brands.
- Liaises closely with BU/category role players within Haleon regarding best practices, global strategies, R&D etc.
- Work closely with Marketing Director and takes responsibility for the development and implementation of all marketing-related aspects of the ABP for the category.
Preferred
- Understands and abides by Haleon policies and procedures, conducts Management Monitoring

- Good understanding of the complex economic and socio-political environment in S.A. to successfully formulate strategies within these constraints.

This position reports to the Head of Marketing (TFS).
Your responsibilities will include:- Marketing Strategy Development: Develop and implement a marketing strategy to increase brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue. Collaborate with leadership to align initiatives with business goals. Identify market trends and opportunities.
- Brand Management & Promotion: Lead efforts to enhance TFS's visibility and reputation. Oversee messaging, campaigns, and media outreach.
- Content Strategy and Creation: Manage content across channels including website, blog, email, and digital media. Ensure content aligns with company values and marketing goals.
- Digital Marketing & Lead Generation: Drive digital campaigns, manage social media presence, and optimize for SEO with the digital team.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment: Coordinate with sales and operations to ensure marketing efforts translate into qualified leads. Support sales with materials and monitor conversion processes.
- Market Research & Data Analysis: Conduct industry research, analyze campaign performance, and provide insights for strategy refinement.
- Event Management & Partnerships: Organize events and build relationships with partners and influencers.
- Budget & Resource Management: Oversee marketing budget, track spending, and optimize ROI.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years in marketing, preferably in logistics or fulfillment sectors.
- 2+ years in B2B services (advantage).
- Experience managing agencies and leading creative teams.
- Proven success in developing marketing strategies that generate leads and enhance brand visibility.
- Experience with digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and content creation.
- Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, and analytics tools like Google Analytics and SEMrush.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Data-driven decision-making mindset.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Knowledge of marketing automation, CMS, and social media tools.
- Understanding of brand management and customer engagement strategies.
- Creative, innovative, and proactive.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
