Your Role at Impact

We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Market Research Assistant to join our marketing research team. This role is perfect for someone who wants to dive deep into market research while supporting critical business insights that drive strategic decisions. What You’ll Do Research Project Support
  • Coordinate research project logistics, including vendor communications and participant incentive programs
  • Organize and maintain research archives for easy access and knowledge sharing

What You Have

To research companies we have or will invest including deep diving on the company itself, their competitors, their earlier funding round and investments, who their prior investors are, various background research (LinkedIn profiles, social media), who are their direct and indirect competitors, and other valuable data points.

For example, a company seeking investment may suggest five companies in the 'vacation rental space,' but research shows there are 15 of them; you would see who they are, their market size, areas of focus, industry leading or anomaly data points and mainstream and lesser known facts.

For example, we need country information for an investment in Pakistan and we need to know what the latest developments are at a macro (country trends, growth opportunities, key sectors.) and micro level (how does government policy affect the travel industry, what are the growth drivers for the online travel agency space). Collectively these and other data points affect our current or upcoming investments.

Research data requires deep diving into company, media releases, trade associations, government organizations, tourism boards, company & industry news sources, and other quantitative and qualitative data sources.

Qualifications

4 to 7 years or more experience at recognized finance, travel industry, research or consulting company with demonstrated skills on market research.

Fluency with finding the latest financial information, management discussions, updates, and other information that gets overlooked in articles/media reports, is strongly preferred.

    As Jr. Market Research Analyst, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of the ecosystem we are currently engaged in. You will act as a valuable resource of the European Marketing team to provide insights related to the Packaging and Label industry as well as the entire value chain. You will have opportunities to participate in projects or assignments where you can interface with different departments and the senior management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver monthly and quarterly reports for the management team including market growth and market growth drivers, share performance, macro economic trends, market & competitive insights

    Research and maintain in-depth knowledge of the the Packaging and Label industry ecosystem, including assessment of new technologies and business models

    Analyze and track competitors’ strategy using financial data, annual reports, SWOT analysis, etc.

    Conduct market analysis to assess new business opportunities and Avery Dennison’s positioning

    Conduct market sizing (calculating TAM & SAM) and market forecast analysis

    Translate market insights into relevant findings and recommendations to the commercial teams

    Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Innovation and IT to provide and consolidate insights

    Deliver presentations and work in project teams where relevant

    Conduct surveys and market research based on business requirements (i.e. VOC, Customer Satisfaction, content for webinars)

    Handle ad-hoc assignments and spot requests/questions

    Fast learner, able to take an initiative, work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changes

    We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated and analytical with the following requirements;

    Bachelor or Master degree in Market Research, Economics, Business Administration, or related

    1-3 year(s) of experience in Strategic Marketing, Consulting or Market Research / Intelligence, or equivalent

    Strong data analysis, reporting and visualization skills with an eye for details and creativity

    Excellent problem solving skills

    Proficiency in Google Slides & Google Sheets AND/OR Excel

    Knowledge in Qualtrics, Cognos, R (other data analytics tools considered a plus)

    Fluent in writing, speaking and reading in English (other languages considered a plus)

    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with a positive mindset
