The company imports Electrical and instrumentation products from Germany and sells locally and into Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor current local market trends and develop appropriate strategies.
• Draw up a local business plan.
• Collaborate with the international Project Management Team.
• Actively participate in national trade and industry bodies.
• Examining and processing data and information of various types.
• Prepares market research, collects statistical data and analyses industry studies in order to identify market trends and potential new target groups.
• Monitors the activities and tactics of competitors to obtain industry benchmarks.

Qualifications:

• Completed Degree in Business and Economics or a comparable degree
• Advantageous - Technical Qualification or Courses
• Experience in product management, business development or strategic marketing in a technical engineering/components or manufacturing environment (i.e. Electrical Products, Process Instrumentation, Mechanical, Pneumatics, Hydraulics or Mechatronics)

About The Position
As a lead member of the EMEA Solutions team at Energy Exemplar, the ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of expertise in power market fundamentals, energy system modelling, and market analysis. This Role Has Two Primary Objectives

• Deliver tailored support and solutions: Collaborate with customers to ensure PLEXOS effectively supports a wide range of power market applications from long-term capacity expansion and policy evaluation to short-term operational planning and reliability analysis.
• Support business development and thought leadership in the power sector: Generate market insights, deliver technical demonstrations, and provide domain expertise during the sales process to promote the adoption of PLEXOS across organisations involved in electricity market planning, operations, and policy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with utilities, system operators, regulators, and developers to design and deliver advanced electricity market models using PLEXOS.
• Gather and analyse customer requirements to tailor modelling solutions for applications such as price forecasting, capacity expansion, and operational planning.
• Build, test, and calibrate models to provide accurate, data-driven insights supporting planning, regulatory compliance, and market analysis.
• Deliver training, technical workshops, and demonstrations to help customers effectively use PLEXOS for their strategic and operational needs.
• Support business development through proof-of-concept studies and expert engagement during pre-sales activities.
• Create technical proposal documents and respond to RFI's/RFP's.
• Contribute to thought leadership by conducting market research and producing original insights on emerging trends like renewables integration, energy storage, and grid flexibility.

• Strong knowledge of electricity and power markets

About The Position

As a lead member of the EMEA Solutions team at Energy Exemplar, the ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of expertise in power market fundamentals, energy system modelling, and market analysis.

This role is suited for someone who is passionate about the evolving electricity sector and understands how modelling and data-driven insights inform decision-making across utilities, system operators, regulators, and other market participants.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with leading energy organisations, helping them unlock the full potential of Energy Exemplar’s advanced modelling tools and shaping the future of power systems and electricity markets across the EMEA region

This Role Has Two Primary Objectives

• Deliver tailored support and solutions: Collaborate with customers to ensure PLEXOS effectively supports a wide range of power market applications from long-term capacity expansion and policy evaluation to short-term operational planning and reliability analysis.
• Support business development and thought leadership in the power sector: Generate market insights, deliver technical demonstrations, and provide domain expertise during the sales process to promote the adoption of PLEXOS across organisations involved in electricity market planning, operations, and policy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with utilities, system operators, regulators, and developers to design and deliver advanced electricity market models using PLEXOS.
• Gather and analyse customer requirements to tailor modelling solutions for applications such as price forecasting, capacity expansion, and operational planning.
• Build, test, and calibrate models to provide accurate, data-driven insights supporting planning, regulatory compliance, and market analysis.
• Deliver training, technical workshops, and demonstrations to help customers effectively use PLEXOS for their strategic and operational needs.
• Support business development through proof-of-concept studies and expert engagement during pre-sales activities.
• Create technical proposal documents and respond to RFI’s/RFP’s.
• Contribute to thought leadership by conducting market research and producing original insights on emerging trends like renewables integration, energy storage, and grid flexibility.
• Present studies at conferences and/or EE sponsored webinars.
• Provide feedback to the product team based on customer needs and evolving market requirement

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electricity and power markets
• Expertise in energy market modelling and optimisation tools (e.g. PLEXOS, BID3, Antares, SDDP, PROMOD)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic are essential, as the role involves engaging with stakeholders across MENA and international regions.
• Confident presenter with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual collaboration tools
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and quality-focused
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence across teams
• Fast learner with a strong drive for professional growth
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, Operations Research, or a related discipline (with focus on electricity systems or markets)
• 5–7 years' experience in energy markets, including knowledge of market fundamentals, system operations, and/or engineering
• Hands-on experience with mathematical optimisation or energy modelling software
