Responsibilities

  • Collecting data and developing analysis on telecom market spending and business segments to support IDC tracker products within the META region and globally.
  • Delivering both quantitative and qualitative research on telecom market with a special focus on both core telecom and ICT / adjacent services.

This position calls for someone with experience or interest in working with telecom market research, management consulting, or market intelligence domains, with a good understanding of the broader ICT ecosystem and good exposure to key industry issues and technology developments.She / he has experience in managing datasets, developing sophisticated market models, and formal report writing skills. This role has a data-oriented bias so good data skills will be crucial for the position.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and data modelling skills. The candidate must possess strong desk research and primary research skills with a strong attitude to identify key business trends based on qualitative analysis.
  • At least 3-4 years' experience in telecom market research, or in relevant practice in an ICT market research or consulting firm.
  • Should be able to network with people within the telecom / ICT industry and forge industry contacts.
  • Outstanding data interpretation and writing skills and being able to provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Good time management and planning skills, ability to conduct several projects in parallel, with complex team structures.

Your Role at Impact

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Market Research Assistant to join our marketing research team. This role is perfect for someone who wants to dive deep into market research while supporting critical business insights that drive strategic decisions. You'll work closely with our Senior Market Research & Analytics Manager and Director of Content to coordinate projects, analyze data, and help bring research findings to life for internal and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Research Project Support
    • Coordinate research project logistics, including vendor communications and participant incentive programs
    • Organize and maintain research archives for easy access and knowledge sharing
    • Support survey development from design through testing and launch
    • Draft benchmark research reports using established templates and formats
    • Assist with research report promotion by preparing key insights and supporting materials
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Prepare data for analysis
    • Perform basic statistical analysis
    • Create presentations and reports from research findings
    • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance data visualization and reporting
What You Have
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a market research role, research analyst, or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Psychology
  • Relevant coursework in Statistics, Research Methods, Data Analysis, or Marketing Principles is a plus
  • Market research certifications or specialized short courses are a bonus
  • Survey tools: Experience with survey platforms like SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics, including implementing survey logic (skip, branching, quotas) and performing QA testing.
  • Data skills: Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets for cleaning and structuring raw data, using pivot tables, charts, and formulas to identify key insights.
  • Presentation tools: Strong skills in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar for creating reports and decks
  • Research fundamentals: Understanding of effective survey design, principles of question construction, and data collection methodologies
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for clear reporting and team collaboration
  • Organization: Excellent time management with ability to handle multiple projects
  • Detail-oriented: Careful approach to data accuracy and quality control
  • Hybrid: The ability to work at our Cape Town office 1-2 times per week with the line manager
Nice to Have
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira)
  • Data visualization skills (can be learned on the job)
  • Quantitative reasoning and advanced analytical capabilities
  • Market research certifications or specialized coursework

Overview

To review, evaluate and analyse user needs to document system requirements and create system specifications that drive system development and implementation of overall business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyse and optimise end-to-end business processes to improve business efficiencies, customer and employee experience and remove inefficient processes to meet new requirements.

  • Facilitate and coordinate the end-to-end implementation of prioritised and approved projects.

  • Analyse business processes and workflows to identify improvement or automation opportunities and facilitate implementation.

  • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships within business and/or across the FRG.

  • Assess own performance through seeking timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate.

  • Develop new insights into situations and apply innovative solutions to make organisational improvements.

  • Ensure compliance to legislative and audit requirements and adherence to relevant processes.

  • Compile reports that track progress and guide business to make informed decisions.

  • Focus on providing optimal services and improving service delivery processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Business Analysis, BSc Information Systems or any 3-year tertiary qualification.

  • 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.

  • Experience with working with FICA documents.

  • Experience in Microsoft 360, Excel and SQL.

  • Experience in Business Case writing and Process mapping.

  • Experience in short-term insurance.
