Overview

Responsible for planning, leading, and optimizing electronics production operations. Oversees the electronics production lab, ensures product quality and compliance, and drives continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the efficient operation of the electronics production lab.
  • Plan and manage production schedules, optimise manufacturing processes, lead a production team, and ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Provide hands-on technical support and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational goals.
  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Design, document, and optimize manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Supervise production staff, including technicians and operators.
  • Lead troubleshooting of production issues and root cause investigations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) and ESD protocols.
  • Coordinate with procurement and planning teams for material availability.

Minimum Requirements to Apply
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in electronics production.
  • Sound knowledge of PCB assembly, soldering techniques, ESD control, quality standards, lean manufacturing, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and production schedules.
  • Hands-on technical problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of IPC and industry safety standards.

  4. Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing multiple teams over multiple deliveries.
  5. Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
  6. Strong understanding of local and international codes and standards, preferably including those applicable to South Africa and the Middle East.
  7. Strong technical knowledge of building services, focusing mainly on Electrical and Electronics.
  8. Strong proficiency in Revit would be an advantage when working on your projects.

Role Responsibilities: Manage full design aspects for Electrical and Electronic Services across a range of building services projects. Analysing project requirements in the context of various codes and standards and develop conceptual designs through to a set of construction information. Directing a small team to ensure compliant designs are delivered to agreed programmes. Manage and coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces. Develop scripts and add-ins to automate repetitive design aspects and/or to check various design compliance aspects (using e.g., Dynamo, Python). Representation at client and professional meetings and being able to present work and engage in technical conversations. Maintaining accountability for resourcing, timeliness, quality, risk management, project financial performance, scope management and keeping the client informed on project progress. Establish new client relationships and maintain existing client relationships. Minimum Requirements: BSc/BEng, or MSc/MEng in Electrical Engineering. Active professional registration with a certified engineering body. Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer within the Built Environment. (International experience will be highly advantageous). Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing multiple teams over multiple deliveries. Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience mentoring and developing junior engineers. Strong understanding of local and international codes and standards, preferably including those applicable to South Africa and the Middle East. Strong technical knowledge of building services, focusing mainly on Electrical and Electronics. Strong proficiency in Revit would be an advantage when working on your projects. Strong proficiency in Dialux, EOM and other relevant electrical simulation software is highly advantageous. Being confident, a team player, and approachable.
