The Role: Electrical Designer
This role leads the electrical design process from concept through to production, ensuring robust designs, accurate documentation, and hands-on technical support to the factory floor. You will help maintain quality systems, champion best-practice design processes, and mentor trainee designers to uplift capability across the team.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee electrical design activities from specification to release
Produce accurate production documentation, including core and wiring sheets
Provide timely technical support to the factory and troubleshoot issues on the floor
Ensure electrical design principles, processes, and practices are correctly implemented
Assist with training and development of trainee designers
Maintain compliance with manufacturing processes and quality systems, driving continuous improvement
About You
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
5+ years of electrical design experience; manufacturing environment experience advantageous
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems
Proven problem-solving ability with strong organization and communication skills
Comfortable providing on-floor technical support and contributing to process improvements
Able to work standard hours (8:00 - 17:00)

An exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Electronic Hardware Design Engineer with a focus on power supply development. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual looking to specialise in the design, simulation, and testing of power supplies for Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) within a high-performance engineering environment. The successful candidate will support the full hardware development cycle, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and simulate power supply circuits for LRUs according to systems engineering specifications
- Complete PCB design and routing using industry-standard tools (Altium – non-negotiable)
- Document hardware designs in line with defined engineering processes and hardware design plans
- Participate in peer reviews of electronic hardware and designs
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including software, mechanical, RF, DSP, and aeronautical engineering
- Test and validate designs against relevant industry standards (e.g. DO-160, MIL-STD-704)
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LRU power supply performance
- Stay informed on industry trends and integrate relevant technological advancements into designs
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or similar)
- Strong proficiency in schematic design, circuit simulation, PCB design, and circuit analysis
- Experience using the following tools (non-negotiable):
- Altium for PCB design
- LTspice (or similar simulation software)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in collaborative team settings

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that stock is neatly packed and displayed in a professional manner, including accessibility to customers by categorising stock more effectively
- Ensure that corresponding transfer number matches page transfer number with details included i.e. (correct branch transfer from and to & dated)
- Ensure that all items are correctly priced and corresponds with shelf talker
- Ensure that all shelf talkers are clean and placed far left of the product
- Apply the "Block System" when merchandising stock
- Ensure that the shop floor and aisles are clean and clear of goods and is accessible for customers
- Remove all hazards and products from under shelves
- Develop overall promotional and display plans for approval
- Obtain props and other accessories and build displays
- Apply store procedure which is all of the above at all times
- Participate in perpetual stocktakes

REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent

Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of electrical installation, maintenance, and repairs in various industries, including maritime. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in marine electrical systems, a deep understanding of safety protocols, and a valid Wireman's License.
The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
§ Matric (Grade 12)
§ N3 Electrical Engineering Certificate
§ ND in Electrical Engineering (Advantage)
§ 3 Phase Wireman’s License (IE) (Non-negotiable)
§ National Trade Test Certificate or Military Artisan Certificate provided by OEM or accredited agent of OEM.
Required Knowledge:
§ Advanced Knowledge of Installations rules & regulations on board ships
§ Knowledge of Electrical systems, especially MCC’s.
