This role will focus on strengthening leadership within the digital storage category and supporting continued growth.
The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the planning and execution of trade marketing strategies that drive sell-through, brand visibility, and channel performance for the company’s digital storage product portfolio. This role works closely with the sales team and key channel partners to ensure seamless in-market execution and alignment with commercial priorities.
The successful incumbent will be based in Johannesburg and will report directly into the Business Unit Executive.

ESSENTIAL: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead trade marketing strategies and annual plans for Digital Storage Devices across all retail, e-commerce, and distribution channels.
- Collaborate with the sales team to translate business objectives into effective in-store and online execution, driving category growth and brand share.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns, retail activations, and POS visibility initiatives, ensuring consistent brand representation across touchpoints.
- Align with global storage brand teams on innovation, budget allocation, and approvals for local campaign execution.
- Manage the trade marketing budget responsibly, ensuring spend is aligned with brand and commercial priorities.
- Analyse sales and marketing data to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify opportunities, and support decision-making.

- Manage and grow relationships with channel partners, understanding their needs and aligning marketing efforts to support joint business goals.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Trade Marketing Assistant will play a key support role in executing marketing plans within ghd’s offline channels, to grow the brand’s presence in salons and retail. You’ll assist with in-salon events, visual and product merchandising, launch executions, co-ordination of point-of-sale materials and events set-up and logistics for education seminars. This role reports directly to the Head of Marketing, and works closely with our Marketing, Education, and Sales teams.
This role is ideal for a go-getter starting their career, who is organised, hands-on, and eager to learn and grow their Marketing experience within the beauty and professional salon industry.
REQUIREMENTS
ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Premium execution of ghd’s global brand guidelines within ghd retail stores and salons in South Africa.
- Assist in planning and coordinating in-salon activations, events, and brand campaigns.
- Coordinate the delivery and setup of point-of-sale materials and event collateral.
- Visual & product merchandising support through execution of premium merchandising plans in salons.
- Updating visuals and imagery to maintain a premium and consistent brand image in all offline points of sale.
- Monitor and manage the production, storage and distribution of marketing materials and merchandising elements.
- Assist with the planning & rollout of trade marketing campaigns in partnership with the sales and education teams.
- Ensure timely execution of activation kits, promotions, giveaways, and sampling initiatives.
- Co-ordinate the collection of feedback, photos, and performance results from the field.
- Coordinate communications with salons, sales representatives, and suppliers regarding upcoming activities and plans.
- Set-up and co-ordination of education workshops and stylist events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 1–2 years of experience in a marketing coordinator, brand assistant, or trade support role (beauty, salon, retail experience preferred).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for beauty and customer engagement.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of visual merchandising and promotional execution.
- Driver’s license, own car and willingness to travel to salons for activations as needed.
