Job Description

  • Admission of the patient into the acute or chronic treatment centre, recording and recapping of medical and surgical history

  • Update all patient files frequently and document all incidents to ensure medico legal requirements are met

m2m is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse on a fixed-term contract to support in delivering Comprehensive Primary Health Care Services at the Ikhwezi Health Centre (Innovation Hub).The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of these integrated health services at the Innovation Hub in Ikhwezi. This includes delivering an enhanced package of services aligned with m2m's strategic focus on addressing key health challenges. The primary focus of this role will be health promotion, disease prevention, case finding, screening, and linking individuals to treatment, care, and support for Tuberculosis (TB), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and Cervical Cancer. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the effectiveness of m2m’s health interventions, ensuring high-quality care and support for those in need.

Key Performance Areas:
KPA 1: Health education and promotion

  • Conduct and supervise health promotion activities focused on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle education.
  • Promote awareness and preventive measures for HIV, TB, HPV, cervical cancer, hypertension, and diabetes and provide technical support and mentorship to peers in alignment with DoH guidelines and protocols

KPA 2: Primary prevention and screening

KPA 4: Relationships management

General Purpose:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides services and/or treatments requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill and provides effective and efficient patient care in accordance with applicable law and regulations, accepted standards of nursing practice, payor requirements and Interim HealthCare policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Contributes to the client’s plan of care/service plan.
  • Participates with the client in clarifying mutually agreed upon goals and incorporates these goals into the plan of care/service plan.

  • Completes timely and accurate clinical notes including addressing the client’s progress.

  • Participates in the Office’s Emergency Preparedness program, as requested.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and has a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) in which he/she practices.
  • Trach/vent experience.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Able to perform and provide evidence of current CPR certification for adults, children and infants.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Able to pass a drug screening.

  • Ensure emergency equipment is maintained and participate in training exercises.

Additional Requirements:

  • Be adaptable today and night shifts, prepared to work overtime when needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as ordering stock and maintaining equipment.

Compensation & Scheduling:

  • Enjoy flexible shifts from 06:00 to 18:00 for day duty and 18:00 to 06:00 for night shifts.
  • Lunchtimes are an hour, with designated tea breaks, ensuring a balanced workday.
