An opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Assessment Unit. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to join our team.
Crisis services (including Braeside, MHAT, OOH's triage, night NTL's, and OOH's CPN's) are currently undergoing organisational change. You will be part of service developments aimed at enhancing crisis services. Some developments include on-site assessments within persons' localities/homes and joint working with SAS and Police Scotland for joint response and assessments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of assessing major mental illness or distress. You must be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating sound clinical decision-making skills.
The post involves assessing mental state and risks such as suicide, self-harm, and violence within a holistic assessment framework. Some assessments may be nurse-led, others conducted jointly with medical colleagues, including police S297 assessments. The team provides a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, and NHS24.
You will be expected to work a 24-hour shift pattern. Part-time work will be considered.

Job Purpose
The Senior Forensic Mental Health Practitioner (FMHP) will hold a caseload across two Approved Premises (APs) located in Camden and Tulse Hill. They will provide psychologically informed assessments and interventions, drawing on approaches such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Mindfulness
- Psychoeducation
The Job Holder Will Work Collaboratively With AP Staff, Probation Practitioners, And Wider Partners To Deliver Holistic, Coordinated Support. This Includes:
- Facilitating case consultations to enhance colleagues’ confidence and skills in supporting individuals with mental health needs

- Help people build self-esteem and increase motivation
- Enable people to discover and access appropriate services and facilities
- Support people to navigate and access services available to them as part of the bespoke care plan
- Assist people whose care is being transferred between services/agencies by liaising as appropriate

Practicalities
- Working Hours: 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

- Record keeping and data management Competence in maintaining accurate records and using data systems for reporting.
- Training and facilitation Ability to deliver workshops and case consultations to professionals.
- Experience working in mental health services At least 2–3 years in a mental health or forensic setting, ideally with experience supporting individuals with complex needs or dual diagnoses.
- Experience in multi-agency environments Prior work in settings involving collaboration with criminal justice, social care, or healthcare professionals.
- Experience delivering psychological interventions Demonstrated ability to apply therapeutic techniques in practice, even at low intensity.
- Relevant degree or equivalent Degree in psychology, mental health nursing, social work, or a related field.

Your Specific Responsibilities:This is a professional position in the Special Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). This position will report directly to the WIC Director.
Licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Florida is required for this position.
Primary Duties:- Provide nutrition assessment including the gathering of anthropometric and hematological data.
- Provide nutrition and breastfeeding counseling to clients.
- Assist and guide clerical and technical support staff of the WIC program.
- Assist in the development of Walton County WIC nutrition education materials.
- Perform duties at the main clinic site or any WIC satellite clinic.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and professional ability to work as a team and independently.
- Support and promote excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all standards and regulations.
- Certify participants for WIC in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
- Provide appropriate WIC food packages to clients based on assessed information.
- Document all utilizing the SOAP method of Problem Oriented Recording in Florida WiSE.
- Provide professional nutrition counseling and follow-up to clients.
- Participate in VENA principles.
- Promote breastfeeding as the normal method of infant feeding.
- Provide basic breastfeeding information and assist in teaching clients.
- Document all activities appropriately in the FL WiSE System.
- Obtain anthropometric and hematological data.
- Check client's immunization status in FL Shots.
- Participate in monitoring QI/QA activities.
- Act as a role model to co-workers.
- Help train new staff.
- Attend meetings and participate in Walton CHD committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize duties effectively.
- Ability to take accurate height/length and weight measurements.
- Knowledge of nutritional needs of pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women; infants; and children under 5.
- Basic computer skills; operate within FL WiSE.

- Ability to counsel clients and conduct group education classes.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to lift and maneuver lab equipment and supplies.
Licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Florida; eligible for License as a Dietitian in the State of Florida. Valid Driver's License. Preferred CLC License Within Two Years Of Position. Preferred to possess bilingual interpretation skills.

Position SummaryEffective oversight of safe space operations and primary supervision of community teams. Provision of Professional Counselling Services to all programme beneficiaries.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide Leadership and supportive supervision to community team to ensure that they fulfil their daily duties.
- Oversee Safe Space operations and rollout of daily activities.
- Develop a daily schedule of Safe Space activities.
- Screen, identify and provide guidance and counselling to in and out of School AYPs experiencing psychosocial challenges.
- Attend and participate in various local stakeholders’ meetings.

- An appropriate 4-year Bachelor Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Minimum of 5 years appropriate / recognizable experience in social work involving case management after registration as a Social Worker with SACSSP.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with Adolescents and Youth programs.
- Good writing skills that will enable the incumbent to compile reports.

- Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work individually and as a team.
