Responsibilities
- Marketing experience within the FMCG / Restaurant / Franchise or retail environment
- Strategy Development, Plan, and implementation – Brand and Marketing
- In depth understanding of Finance, budgets, forecasts related to marketing plans and campaigns

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Events & Marketing Lead to drive the planning and execution of all company events while supporting key marketing initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Events Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including:
o Customer engagements and corporate events

- Sourcing sponsorship, end-to-end event sales cycle management
- Develops and manages external and internal event plan
- Plans and coordinates event-related services and general event logistics; including but not limited to:

- Track timelines and event budgets, ensuring delivery within scope

- Lead on-site event coordination, including setup, hosting, and troubleshooting
- Conduct post-event evaluations and provide reporting with recommendations
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, partners, sponsors and 3rd parties
- Stay current with trends to introduce creative event concepts and enhancements
- Produce detailed proposals for events
- Create and execute procedures for all major event processes
- Administers events and activities in accordance with the policies, strategies, and mission of the company
- Drive, execute and manage internal and external event meetings
MARKETING MANAGEMENT
- Development of promotional content and event marketing materials (social media, website updates, banners, booklets, flyers, emailers, presentations)
- Ensure branding consistency across all event touchpoints and communications
- Support marketing campaigns related to events – content scheduling, audience engagement, basic reporting
- Maintain event pages and updates on the websites and social media
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, HR, and leadership to ensure brand align
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent presentation skills are a necessity
- Proven experience in planning and executing high-impact events
- Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Creative problem solver and detail oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with various stakeholders
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and event management platforms

The Head of Trade Marketing leads the development and implementation of the trade marketing strategy across Formal, Informal and On-Trade channels to drive brand visibility, sales growth and market share. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy Development
- Lead the development and implementation of the Trade Marketing strategy to champion in market execution to drive brand visibility, sales growth, and market share.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and shopper insights to identify growth opportunities that inform channel strategies and trade marketing activities.
- Build and develop the Off-Trade and On-Trade channel Playbooks to define “Where to Play” and “How to Win” strategies aligned to brand objectives.
Brand Activation
- Champion the development and execution of all trade marketing activities, promotions, and brand events across all channels.

Cycle Planning Management
- Develop and lead the overall Cycle Planning process to drive best-in-class execution of brand activities across all Channels.
- Build and drive the integrated activity grid and promotional calendar with Commercial Channel Heads and Portfolio managers across the brands.
- Build effective go-to-market processes with brand and sales teams to ensure OTIF delivery of promotions, campaigns and POS toolkits in trade.
- Champion last-mile execution in outlets with sales teams to ensure successful campaign delivery and ROI for the business.
- Lead the NPD listing process with customers, including developing trade selling kits with brand teams and coordinating the launch process with Key Account and Field Sales teams.

Budget Management and Regulatory Compliance
- Manage the trade marketing budget effectively, ensuring maximum ROI for the business.
- Track performance of trade marketing campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that all trade marketing activities comply with South African laws and regulations related to alcohol marketing, sales, and distribution.
People Management
- Manage team of Trade Marketing Managers, including skills development, coaching, and succession planning.
- Use the Performance Review process effectively to develop team competency (including addressing capability gaps, performance management, and individual development programs)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is an advantage
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in trade marketing and brand management/sales within the alcoholic beverage or FMCG sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing trade marketing activities across the Formal, Informal and On-Trade channels.
- Expert knowledge of trade marketing principles and trade execution materials across all channels.
- Deep understanding of the liquor industry, including distribution channels, key players, market trends and regulatory landscape in South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop a robust insights and reporting framework and synthesize insights from multiple sources (loyalty programs, market research, sales date etc) into actionable recommendations for Marketing, Commercial and other business units
Develop and manage reporting tools and dashboards that track customer behaviour, campaign effectiveness and marketing ROI, ensuring timely reporting to all stakeholders
Manage and mentor a team to deliver high-quality analysis and continuous improvement of the insights function
Collaborate with loyalty and BI teams for data extraction
Provide strategic recommendations based on customer insights to assist with promotional planning and enhance Brand strategy
Establish predictive analytics capabilities
Write the weekly reports to business
Competitor analysis
Prepare ad hoc reports to the business
Monitor and Manage the Brand Tracker
Manage postmortems
Create customer strategies for the 7-9 customer events which will inform the integrated leads
Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree in Statistics, Actuarial, Marketing Analytics, or Business Intelligence; Honours preferred
8-10 years in data analysis, customer insights, retail analytics
Data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), SQL or data query skills, CRM systems, Predictive analytics tools, Report automation, Research Marketing, Customer Platform (Panels, Qualitative and Quantitative)
