Purpose:
- To provide critical support for the Supply Chain & Operations functions by analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on key data and processes. The Supply Chain Analyst is also responsible for gathering data, analyzing trends and reporting the performance for various activities in the SCM department.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12
- Minimum tertiary qualification / technical diploma and/or specific training in Supply Chain Management. Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years’ experience within field of expertise
- Previous supervisory experience advantageous
- Computer Skills (QAD experience highly advantageous)
Main Responsibilities:
- Direct Reports: 1 – 2 team members
- Maintain and manage vendor accounts
- Oversee internal invoice verification systems (KITE)
- Responsible for supporting the regional plants in this function
- Responsible for booking, processing and analyzing freight documentation
- Prepare and distribute weekly overviews on standard and premium freight values
- Provide analysis on cost drivers, identify areas where CI can be implemented to reduce / eliminate costs associated within the Supply Chain
- Maintain import register in compliance with local customs regulations
- Facilitate export shipments and documentation where required
- Perform month end functions, analysis and reporting to facilitate MEC checklist
- Creation of vendor accruals, vendor statement analysis
- Involvement in freight tenders, tender process and generation of data required to facilitate the freight tender process (incl. volume overviews per lane separated into weekly buckets defined by cbm and kg’s)
- Provide depot container overview with focus placed on containers incurring any premium cost
- Host quarterly vendor performance meetings and feedback sessions
- Support for ad-hoc implementation of freight projects, service provider changes or enhancements to the department

- Able to process time sensitive information and orders to meet deadlines
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and generate presentations when required
- Excellent analytical skills in order to problem solve and implement permanent corrective action

The Ready-Mix Concrete Logistics Controller will be responsible for managing the logistics operations of our ready-mix concrete supply chain for the Transkei and Lesotho regions, ensuring efficient delivery of concrete products to construction sites while maintaining the highest standards of service. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate logistics activities to meet customer requirements and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requests and Order Management:
- Receive request for quotation and attend to within mandated turnaround time/escalate to tenders’ department where required.
- Receive orders for ready-mix concrete from customers, ensuring to include concrete specifications, quantities, and delivery locations, special instructions, etc.
- Coordinate with the operational team ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Communicate with customers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any challenges experienced.
- Dispatch and Routing:
- Plan and optimize delivery for ready-mix concrete trucks based on order locations, traffic conditions, and truck/plant capacities.
- Monitor truck movements and obtain/provide real-time updates from dispatchers to customers and project stakeholders regarding delivery status.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding concrete orders, delivery inquiries, and scheduling changes.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues related to delivery delays, product quality, or service discrepancies in a timely and professional manner, by escalating to the appropriate department head and ensuring close out within the acceptable timeframes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, and project managers to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Raw Material Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, aggregates, and cement to ensure adequate supply for concrete production.
- Coordinate with suppliers to replenish inventory as needed and optimize inventory levels.
Minimum Requirements:
- Male/Female, between ages of 30-50
- Physically fit and healthy
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous, but not mandatory
- Valid driver's license and own car
- At least 5 years’ experience in logistics coordination, preferably within the ready-mix concrete/Construction industry
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, drivers, and customers
- Familiarity with concrete production processes and the logistics related thereto
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- After hours and weekend work will be required where orders are placed during this time.

Position overview:
We are looking for our next Logistics Planner to join our East London facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate EDI accuracy from the customer.
- Track customer variation on orders that could be transmitted to our supplier base.
- To place weekly raw material orders on suppliers.
- Expedite orders using the standard transport mode.
- Ensure to monitor supplier on-time delivery. Ensure that all imports requirements are met (FCL/ LCL requirements – TO’s, forecasts, etc) and that parts are shipped according to the required in plant due dates. Review and action delivery discrepancies.
- Populate and analyse material shortage reports.
- Escalate material or supply problems.
- Manage Excess & Obsolescence management; Engineering Change management of your designated parts / suppliers.
- Work with the team on Continuous Improvement Programmes.
- Flag the cycle counting of parts at risk that are needing review.
- Goods-in-transit, backlog, supplier, stock holding and engineering change management
Key skills and Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification is advantageous.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, advanced level advantageous. A working knowledge of SAP or a similar system would be advantageous. Supply chain understanding and management.
