About the Role:
As a Mechanical Fitter, youll play a key role in assembling pulley shafts, shells, bearings, and more. You'll work in a medium-to-heavy engineering workshop with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Experience with lagging installation and bearing fitting (e.g., hydraulic nuts, locking elements) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble pulley shafts, shells, and associated components
Perform mechanical fitting, stripping, and assessments
Complete repair reports in coordination with the Senior Supervisor
Maintain workshop machinery and follow safe work practices
Requirements:
Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate
5+ years experience in medium/heavy engineering workshops
Experience with cylindrical roller bearings, drive couplings, and lagging preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Dogman and forklift licence (advantageous)
