Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analysis on breakdowns and execute speedy repairs.
- Minimize downtime and equipment damage by acting fast and efficiently.
- Work closely with Production to proactively identify issues before they escalate.
- Provide reports on all repair and support activities.
- Conduct "first-off" inspections and scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Liaise with production to schedule downtime for preventative work.
- Submit feedback and escalate irregularities to the Toolroom Foreman.
- Assist in training Apprentices.
- Prepare training machines and provide on-the-job technical guidance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Monitor resource usage and limit unnecessary expenditure.
- Report risks, irregularities, and deviations to management.
- Build strong internal relationships and provide excellent support to operations.

- Proof Trade Tested Fitter / Fitter and Turner (NQF 5)
- Up to 3 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
- Proficient in basic MS Office; exposure to SAP, ERP, or other maintenance-related systems
- Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance practices and SOPs
- Strong awareness of safety and housekeeping standards
- Technically minded with solid fault-finding skills
- Action-oriented and proactive

Job Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha
Job Type: Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance functions to ensure that the machines and factory remain well looked after
- Maintenance checks on chillers, cooling towers and compressor
- Repairs, maintenance alterations when required or requested
- Welding and fabrication of new equipment and machinery
- Documented weekly checklists to be filled in
- Comply with PPE requirements
- Report any detected health and safety concerns immediately
- Factory running efficiently and effectively because of a highly maintained factory
- Continuously try to seek out methods to help preventative maintenance be a solution to root
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualified Fitter (Red Seal/ Trade Test)
- Minimum 3-5 years post qualification experience
- Experience in a maintenance environment within a manufacturing company
- Experience in steel fabrication and sketch up own design
- Arc welding experience
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
- Hydraulic experienced (Read and interpret drawings)
- Injection moulding experience advantageous
