The position for a Motor Technician (Mechanic) has become available in Greytown. The successful candidate will ensure excellent service levels and high levels of diagnostics and technical skills on all Vehicles.

Job Purpose

To carry out service, maintenance, and repairs on Toyota vehicles in line with manufacturer standards and dealership procedures, ensuring customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Toyota vehicles.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and road tests to determine faults and confirm repairs.
  • Use Toyota diagnostic tools (e.g., Techstream) and service information systems.
  • Adhere to Toyota and dealership quality standards, processes, and repair times.
  • Complete job cards and service reports accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding required repairs and timelines.
  • Follow safety and environmental regulations in the workshop.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development through Toyota SA Motors (TSAM) technical programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work area.
  • Uphold Toyota’s brand standards for customer service and vehicle care.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum

  • Trade Test Certificate – Automotive Technician (Petrol/Diesel).
  • Toyota experience preferred or experience with Japanese automotive brands.
  • Valid South African driver’s license (Code B or higher).
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a dealership environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in fault-finding and diagnostics using electronic tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the new and used vehicle sales teams to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Sales & Business Development

Reporting & Compliance

  • Provide detailed sales reports, forecasts, and KPI tracking to dealership management.

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will drive fleet vehicle sales for the dealership by actively sourcing, engaging, and managing relationships with corporate, government, and rental clients ensuring customer satisfaction through professional service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Sales Development:
    • Identify and develop new fleet business opportunities with corporates, SMEs, government, and rental agencies.
    • Conduct presentations, vehicle demonstrations, and prepare customized proposals and tenders.
    • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for fleet sales as set by the dealership.
  • Customer Relationship Management:

  • Tender and Proposal Management:

Requirements

  • Education:
