The QA Inspector will assist the Construction Manager with daily tasks required for QA inspection, remediations and documentation.

Primary Position Duties:
  • Performs Quality Assurance inspections of completed FTTH plant in a timely manner.
  • Documents all issues with work quality.
  • Works with Construction Manager to upload QA forms and lists of discrepancies to document archive software.
  • Communicates all issues effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Performs re-inspection of any discrepancies discovered in initial inspection.
  • Works with Construction Manager to ensure that all team members understand and follow company construction specifications.
  • Responds to member’s concerns when necessary.
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Know, understand and follow company policies.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:

Education or Skills:
  • 6 months – 1 year of experience in Construction/Fiber Services or Related Field.

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees and customers in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
  • Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers.
  • Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts.
  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as gaffs, safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment.
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices.
  • Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 32 ft. high and 90 pounds).
  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires.
  • Ability to operate appropriate computer.

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Inspector in the Plastic Injection Moulding Department is responsible for inspecting products, materials, and processes to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with industry specifications. This role includes assessing the quality of incoming materials/products, in-process products, and finished items, ensuring that defective products are identified and corrective actions are recommended.

Responsibilities:

Product Inspection:

  • Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify they meet established quality standards.

Process Monitoring:

  • Monitor and document injection moulding processes to ensure consistency and compliance with specifications.

Defect Identification:

  • Identify defects or deviations from specifications, document findings, and report to the Quality Control Team Leader.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including product samples and any non-conformance findings.

Testing Procedures:

  • Conduct and document standard tests, such as dimensional checks, visual inspections, and functional tests, using precision measuring equipment (e.g., gauges).

Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide feedback on potential areas for improvement to production teams and support corrective action implementation.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement solutions.

Training Support:

  • Assist in training production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures as required.

Safety Compliance:

  • Go/no-go gauges
  • Basic understanding of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and inspection procedures

  • Communicate with other sample preparation supervisor to achieve the required turnaround time for all submitted samples
  • Assign duties (and assist when necessary) in the coordination of shipments and other fieldwork.
  • Assign duties in coordinating and Compiling of Spreadsheets of results, updating daily and reporting to client.
  • Assist in the efficient administrative running of the office as instructed by site supervisor
  • Implementation of cost control measures mainly with respect to proper allocation of staff and PPE usage on field
  • Liaise with warehouse and port personnel and arrange inspections
  • To ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection order (mission order and risk assessment)
  • Keep direct superior informed regarding progress and/or non-conformance. Implement needed corrective action.
  • Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of the "Customer Services" policy and minimise client complaints and claims
  • Proper implementation of SIR promptly and other SGS platforms needed for inspections
  • Attend to inspection operation of Mineral cargoes following International Standards and Company Q.A policies and mandate given by the principal
  • To carry out and/or supervise all weighing operations if required by the mandate
  • To ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection order
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager
  • Train staff on site to achieve quality in inspection

SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES

  • Coordinate and report on inspections timely
  • Communicate with the client with accurate & honest findings from inspection
  • Guide and assist junior staff and samplers on site

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with Maths and Science
  • Post-matric qualification in sampling and inspection services
  • Computer Literacy in Word and Excel, Microsoft outlook

Experience

  • Minimum of 3years of Trade related experience or similar
  • Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)
  • Typing Skills
  • If the incumbent is new in the industry, background and qualifications shall be a criteria
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Calculation capability – To ensure accurate scoring of clients results

Job Purpose

Responsible to supervise and monitor the casino tables operation to ensure an exceptional guest experience during game play in accordance with company standards and gaming regulations.

Key Performance Areas

Tables Inspection

Monitors Gaming Tables and Dealers

Ensures relevant game information is communicated

Keeps Gaming Floor Manager informed of information relevant to the games

Provides audible and precise game commentary

Communicates equipment defects

Validates pay-outs

Accurately tracks guests play on Casino system

Identifies and escalates cheating and suspicious activities

Controls discretionary/ complimentary spend

Float management

Opening and closing of tables

Communicates any special guest requirements or events to other relevant operating departments

Provides feedback and reports back to management on the performance and challenges on the tables floor

People Supervision

Supervises employees to ensure that staff uniform, hygiene and appearance is maintained

Conducts performance contracting, reviews and development

Identifies performance gaps

Conduct coaching and on job training

Identifies and addresses misconduct issues

Keeps records of coaching discussions

Informs department / staff of information required to perform the duties and tables floor operation effectively

Communicates department's objectives, standards and operating procedures to internal and external service providers as per SLA

Delivered Customer Experience

Monitor service standards and staff: to ensure all guests are treated with courtesy and respect at all times

Shift handover ensures that staff can provide customers with relevant service

Interact and be present on the floor during service to understand and assist clients with requests, special requirements, recommendations, concerns, resolution of complaints, etc.

Report on any issues experienced and solutions executed

Education

Grade 12 or equivalent national qualification in gaming operations

An additional supervisory qualification is preferred

Experience

1 year experience as a Tables dealer or previous Supervisory experience preferably obtained in the gaming industry

Work conditions and special requirements

Ability to work shifts that meet operational requirements

Work in a smoking environment

Physical mobility to move around as per job requirements (including with the use of aids)
