We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Control Inspector to join our finance team. The ideal candidate must have a solid foundation in accounting principles and practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Matric Senior Certificate.

• 5+ years of experience in quality control within metal fabrication, rubber moulding, or polyurethane manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement checks, and communicating required corrective actions to the responsible Production Supervisor
• Inspect finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement checks; returning non-conforming products for re-work; confirming rework
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising data (rejects, reworks, scrap, waste etc.)
• Collate information daily pertaining to quality control and produce reports detailing failure patterns and characteristics
• Analyse Quality Data and make recommendations for improvement
• Train and assist operators to carry out their quality control functions and ensure their compliance to meet the quality goals
• Check details of incoming components when necessary (Quality issues with components in production areas)
• Communicate any non-conformances or any quality related issues to the SHEQ Officer.
• Audit and review Production Work Instructions and Procedures (SOP’s)
• Assist with the update and development of SOP’s as required
• Verification of equipment / jigs & fixtures / gauges used to measure / check quality adherence and ensure within specification
• Perform quality checks on all products produced to ensure they meet the required quality standards
• Assist with any investigation of all In-house manufactured / Production quality defects and customer Complaints related to production
• Comply with all company and departmental policies in the performance of work or workplace activities

The Quality Control Inspector in the Plastic Injection Moulding Department is responsible for inspecting products, materials, and processes to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with industry specifications. This role includes assessing the quality of incoming materials/products, in-process products, and finished items, ensuring that defective products are identified and corrective actions are recommended.

Responsibilities:

Product Inspection:

• Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to verify they meet established quality standards.
  
  

• Monitor and document injection moulding processes to ensure consistency and compliance with specifications.
  
  

• Identify defects or deviations from specifications, document findings, and report to the Quality Control Team Leader.

• Conduct and document standard tests, such as dimensional checks, visual inspections, and functional tests, using precision measuring equipment (e.g., gauges).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform inspections as instructed by senior inspectors, administrators, operations supervisors, or branch managers of the Natural Resources, Agricultural, Trade team. To carry out division functions effectively and efficiently, focusing on field inspections and maintaining accurate records of daily inspections.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform daily operational activities under guidance from senior staff and managers.
• Attend inspections at various locations across South Africa, primarily in Cape Town.
• Inspect fish meal, fish oil loading, and discharges of fish or frozen fish.
• Witness and record fumigation of containers, weighings on weighbridges, and verify equipment.
• Ensure all equipment and consumables are clean and sanitized for inspections.
• Supervise the discharge of vegetable and palm oil vessels, perform volume and tonnage calculations.
• Coordinate documentation, equipment, and sampling labels prior to site visits.
