Electrical/C&I Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect and maintain plant and equipment to meet operational requirements.
• Ensure routine maintenance as per planned schedules.
• Locate, and rectify electrical faults on plants and equipment.
• Ability to update or install complete wiring system within code requirements.
• Replace, repair and maintain electrical systems including troubleshoot of it.
• Keep records of electrical equipment such as motors service history
• Run diagnostic tests, make adjustments to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance using diagnostic equipment, software and complex solving skills.
• Comply with industry health, safety and environmental working practices and regulations.
• Read, understand and interpret information and work in a compliance with technical specifications and supporting documentation of equipment suppliers, such as electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Prepare work areas to undertake work related activities and reinstate those areas after completion of the work-related activities
• Communicate, handover and confirm that the appropriate maintenance process has been completed to specification.
• Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or similar qualification in Electrical, C&I, Technical discipline.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 5 years' post apprenticeship or millwright experience in a similar environment.
• First principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment.
• Relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, and environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment.
• Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA, and HMIs.
• Knowledge of HV/LV Switchgears.
• Experience in Variable speed drives.
• Signal exchange (Profibus, MPI, IFM etc.)
• Good communication skills.
• Advanced computer literate (MS Office).

INTRODUCTION, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Fault finds on all PCBs
-Repair electronic circuits.
-Be able to do PC board repairs up to component level.
-Read and interpret schematic diagrams.
-Read and interpret test equipment results primarily a mustimeter and oscillating scope.
-Beneficial to have RF and GSM equipment knowledge.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum 2 years’ experience.
-Minimum N6 or equivalent / National Diploma or B Tech in Electronics
-Experience as an Electronic Technician in electronic repairs down to component level
-Background in PCB fault finding, repairs and testing
-Able to read and interpret Schematics / PCB documents / circuit diagrams
-Electronic assembly
-Experience in fast moving production of PCBs will be advantageous

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our team in the Clean Water Division at our Coppermills - East London - E17 7HE site.

As a successful candidate, you will use your mechanical & electrical knowledge and experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment. This will be done in a safe, efficient, timely, and effective manner with minimal supervision, ensuring our sites remain operational for our customers.

38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm, with standby rota, overtime, and potential earnings increase of £8,000-£0,000 after training. PPE, tools, and a company van are provided.

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.

Job Description

Travelling to sites throughout the country for installations and servicing of equipment.

Ensuring wiring and installations are all in line with applicable standards

Carrying out repairs of UPSs and Inverters.

Pre-installation: Carrying out on-site assessments of potential solar installations, UPS installations, other electrical installations to determine detailed scope of work.

Fostering and improving customer relationships and internal relationships

Assisting in upholding installation and workmanship standards as laid down by procedure.

Conducting COCs and take full responsibility of your role as an Electrician, as regulated

Qualification & Skills

Minimum N4 - N6 National Diploma.

Qualified Installation Electrician with Wiremans License (non-negotiable)

Valid Driver’s License

PV Greencard (advantageous)

Experience in installation and support of UPS systems 

Working at Heights training (advantageous)

Experience in installation of Solar PV solutions (Residential and Commercial)

Our Client in the textile/flooring industry is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for day to day running of Electrical Services in Engineering Department.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have passed trade test as an electrician and at least 10 years factory experience.
• Must be able to design and build electrical control circuits (e.g. starters, motors and protection).
• Ability to install, repair, program and maintain DC and AC variable speed drives and motors.
• Advanced knowledge of PLC programming and instrument control system.
• Wireman’s licence or certificate of installations are also added advantages.
• Knowledge of HT transformers, HT switching and power factor correction is preferable.
