Key Responsibilities of this Role:
1. Fulfil the maintenance services and complete associated documentation at the various designated support locations as indicated below in accordance to the standards of the security systems and safety/risk procedures.
2. You will report directly to the senior security technical supervisor/ GTSM manager who in his capacity will oversee and will be accountable for the responsibilities of the technicians as listed below.

• Execute planned work that included improvements, repairs or replacements to current installations as well as new installations.
• Condition based maintenance.
• Execute breakdown maintenance based on the priority of equipment as highlighted by the procedure or on instruction of the security senior technician, senior technician, supervisor and manager.
• The accurate and timeous completion of maintenance work orders and schedules for all of the security equipment under the care of a technician must be handed back diligently in order to meet quality control targets that could affect his work performance.
• The execution of route cause failure analysis for equipment failures at all times that include all call-outs, breakdowns and any failures requested by the senior staff of Sibanye and the detailed documentation thereof as accurately as possible.
• Ongoing assessment and reporting of spare stock levels and the utilization of spares with the aim to provide early notice to Sibanye in order to prevent the depletion of spare stock capacity.
• The senior technician will be responsible for his own time management records and subsequent approval by the manager and of the technicians assigned under his supervision.
• The senior technician will be responsible for all necessary supporting documents like sick notes, leave forms, training nominations and other documents.

Qualifications- Grade 12 (with Maths)
- N3 or Equivalent
- Competency A& B
- Blasting assistant competency
- Code 10 Drivers License
- 3 years' demonstrated experience in Underground explosives mining environment
- 2 years' demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance
Available quality assured product and equipment
- Testing and quality assurance of the product
- Transferring of product from surface silos transfer cassettes and Emulsion Charging Units
- Usage of BME emulsion charging units
Trained/informed employees and relevant stakeholders
- Provide training for mine personnel
- Demonstrate the correct method for transporting emulsion technology
- Demonstrate the correct method of operating emulsion pumps
- Demonstrate the correct method for loading a blast face
- Demonstrate the ability to support emulsion blasting operations without supervision
- Lead a team of BME personnel in the technical support of underground blasting operations
Audited and reported/supported standards of tasks and operations
- Manage quality control in underground storage areas
- Monitor and support daily charging operations
- Ensure regular inspections of sites, vehicles and equipment and that they ensure that standards are maintained
- Oversees maintenance, inspections and production schedules of equipment and vehicles
- Undertake benchmarking on daily blasting activities
- Cultivates a culture among staff of neatness, cleanliness, and orderliness in line with SHERQ requirements
