Essential Functions- Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including neonatal, paediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
- Verifies that the assigned ambulance is mechanically sound and properly equipped at the start of a shift.
- Evaluates the nature and acuity of the illness or injury.
- Ensure that all medical and non-medical equipment is maintained, checked and serviced, including the onsite ambulance and emergency care equipment as per VMIH policies.
- Organizes patient care in a manner that contributes to the overall quality of the team.
- Communicates information pertinent to transfer of patient. (ie; admissions, ER transfer)
- Interacts professionally with staff members, physicians, and patients.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Demonstrates the value of team concept on a consistent basis.
- Ensures that all patient files and data collection is maintained to the highest standard while ensuring confidentiality.
- Handles inventory control of emergency drugs and disposables.
- Ensures full compliance on audits, stock control, incident and accident reporting, controlled medication reporting and onsite continued training and development.
- Prepares and submits all weekly and monthly reports shared with onsite clinic manager.
- Ensures continuous quality management throughout the clinic.
- Complete a full and comprehensive hand over to relief paramedic after every shift.
- Operates an assigned motor vehicle; maintains cleanliness of and fuels vehicle; checks tire inflation and fluid levels; requests or schedules service and/or repairs as needed.
- Substitutes for other supervisors and/or co-workers during their temporary absence; provides guidance, training, and/or assistance to other department personnel.
- May be required to be on twenty-four-hour call as deemed necessary.
- In the event of a declared state of emergency, employees in this classification may be called to work during days or hours other than those for which they are regularly scheduled.
- Personally responsible for protecting paper records, computer records, and other device associated with confidential public health information or data.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable UAE labour laws at all times.
- Participates in regular quality audits by ensuring compliance of evidence/documents at all times.
- Carries out ad-hoc tasks and/or project work as directed to support the Department/Division to deliver strategy.
- Required from time to time to undertake other duties of similar nature as reasonably required by the line manager.

Uphold safety protocols in compliance with South Africas Hazardous Substances Act

Qualifications:
