• Strong knowledge of sedimentary geology, with a focus on carbonate rocks, including limestone
• Proficiency in geological mapping techniques, GIS software, and geological modeling tools
• 5 years experience in conducting fieldwork in diverse geological settings and challenging environments
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in interpreting geological data and conducting geological surveys
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
• Effectively conveying complex geological concepts to diverse audiences

This position will provide the successful incumbent with a broad range of project opportunities both locally and internationally. The Zutari Ground Engineering Team offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects ranging from Energy, Transport, Water, Built Environment, and Resources projects. Hire Resolve's client in Cape Town is seeking a Hydrogeologist or Geologist with significant hydrogeological experience to join their team. As a Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for conducting field investigations, analysing hydrogeological data, and providing technical support for various projects including all aspects of groundwater and wellfield development.

• Undertake a combination of field work and office work, including data analysis and reporting.
• Manage smaller projects and tasks on larger projects, with opportunities to develop project management skills over time.
• Work collaboratively with members of the hydrogeology, geology, hydrology, GIS and environmental groups, team members from other internal business lines, as well as external sub-contractors/consultants, and clients.
• Work on a variety of hydrogeological-environmental projects including groundwater investigations, water well design, aquifer testing, development of hydrogeological models, risk assessment, and remediation feasibility studies.
• Evaluate and interpret data including geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, and groundwater chemistry as part of various projects.
• Contribute to the development of proposals for new work.

• Qualification: BSc Hons or MSc degree in Earth Sciences / Geology / Hydrogeology / Water Resource Science (focus on hydrogeology).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in geological/hydrogeological activities.
• Experience in on-site supervision of borehole drilling and test-pumping.
• Experience in collaborating with and managing small teams.
• Experience in data analysis and reporting.
