The role holds the legal accountability with a appointment in terms of the MHSA, responsible for the overall safe operation and maintenance of equipment including availability of HME, light vehicle, and pit dewatering services at Venetia Mine.
Key Result Areas
- Role incumbent will be appointed in terms of MHSA Reg and has a strong focus on legal compliance
- Ensure adherence to the company's Safety, Health and Environmental management programmes and that objectives are implemented according to MHSA legislation and the Strategic Management Plan
- Direct and identify the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to mining standards, organisational standards and legislative requirements
- Allocate and manage the utilisation of financial resources and value add to optimise engineering availability and life cycle management of equipment.
- Management and co-ordination of team and resources to execute maintenance and operational plans for Caterpillar HME Fleet, light vehicle & support equipment fleet, and pit dewatering infrastructure
- Repair and Maintenance (R&M) contract management for Venetia Mine Caterpillar Fleet
- Management of the open pit dewatering infra-structure for safe operation and maintenance.
- Management of the mine surface fleet collision prevention system implementation and maintenance
- Implement maintenance strategies and tactics to deliver availability, reliability and cost performance to mine business plan
Qualifications
Mnimum Requirements:

- Ndip (N6) or B-Tech or Bachelors' Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Government Certificate of Competency (Mines)
- This role will carry a regulation appointment
- 5 years' experience in heavy mobile equipment maintenance management in the mining environment

Qualifications
- Recognised Degree in Safety and Risk / Mining / Engineering (NQF 7) combined with practical experience.
- Registration with a South African professional institution would be advantageous.
- A minimum of 8-10 years operational Safety, Health and Risk experience at a managerial level.
- Experience working at a large mine with an extensive footprint preferably, Underground, Surface and Plant experience.

You will be responsible for the Installation and Maintenance of underground Mine Automation Systems controlling and managing Trackless Mobile Machinery, associated components and technologies including autonomous navigation and wireless telecommunication. The System Technician has two focus areas with overlaps for career growth and knowledge sharing: Field Control equipment and Automation Systems.
The broader team includes TMM Technicians with the focus being the onboard TMM automation, communication components and 3rd party systems, an essential element to successful automation of mining. This will require strong collaboration, teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Your Role Will
- Install, configure, repair, inspect and commission hardware, software and telecommunication system components of a diverse technical nature.
- Maintain tools and equipment for maintenance and service work.
- Upgrade Automation systems with new hardware and software to keep it up to date.
- Plan preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on Mine Automation Systems including field instrumentation, communication infrastructure, software systems and TMM onboard systems in collaboration with the TMM Technicians as part of the team.
- Conduct routine maintenance and services Mine Automation Systems.
- Report and document results after actions have been completed.
- Guide colleagues in service methods and use of tools-of-the-trade.
- Collaborate with TMM Technicians, Field Services, IT and other engineering disciplines in fault finding and trouble shooting of Mine Automation Systems.
Qualifications

Overview

The incumbent is required to partner with peers and stakeholders on all operational and strategic issues as they arise and provide strategic recommendations.
Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership & EXCO Participation: Serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making. Drive commercial strategy aligned with regional growth objectives, particularly in Namibia and emerging Southern African markets.
- Finance Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Ensure compliance with South African and cross-border taxation regulations. Manage employee rates and cost structures across jurisdictions.
- Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Supply Chain Oversight: Optimize procurement and logistics operations across Southern Africa. Support the negotiation and management of sales agreements, supplier agreements and service contracts.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
- Project & Systems Management: Lead SAP integration and other enterprise system implementations. Manage commercial aspects of strategic projects including mergers and regional expansions. Ensure alignment of commercial systems with operational and financial goals.
- Cross-Border Taxation & Compliance: Develop and implement tax strategies for operations in Namibia and other Southern African countries. Liaise with legal and tax advisors to ensure compliance with international tax laws. Monitor changes in regional tax legislation and assess business impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, regional partners, government entities, and suppliers. Represent the company in commercial negotiations and strategic forums.
- Sound long-term financial planning, modelling, and reporting in line with De Beers Group requirements.
- Provide strategic & commercial input into business opportunities, options and scenarios and business planning.
- Oversee long-term budget planning, forecasting and cost management in alignment with De Beers Group and Client's strategic plans.
- Monitoring the use of funds; engagement with De Beers Group Treasury or outside financiers (where applicable) and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions and capital funding thereof.

- 10+ years of experience in commercial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in senior management level, leading a team of professionals.
- Proven experience in cross-border taxation, financial planning, and project management.
- Strong understanding of EPCM business models and regional dynamics in Southern Africa.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Solid experience in fulfilling its fiduciary duties.
- Experience in managing additional support services such as Supply Chain/Procurement.
- Understand Company value drivers and embed in team to deliver streamlined solutions and improvement opportunities to move the business forward.

Primary Purpose Of The Role
- The annual financial statements are accurate and in compliance with IFRS and relevant laws and regulations and advising the business on accounting matters.
- To ensure not only technical compliance with all appropriate accounting standards and reporting regulations but also ensuring strict management of the tax compliance activities in the countries in which the company operates, inclusive of any budgeting, forecasting and other financial planning activities.

Management of Finance reporting team

Review the submission of the monthly, interim, and annual HFM/AFC reporting and ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards, company standards and legislative/regulatory requirements.
Accurate and complete presentation of the Company's cash position and dividend value for declaration to shareholders.
Manage the preparation of cash flows, forecasting and reporting.
Accurate and complete presentation of financial reporting. compliance and regulations
Formulates the accounting policies of the company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and aligns to Group policies and presents to the financial manager for approval.
Taxation Management: accurate and complete presentation of statutory reporting
Prepares the budget, forecast and annual income tax pack and tax liability of the company.
Payroll Accounting: Effective management of the payroll accounting requirements
- External and Internal Audits: Manage the external and internal audits of the company
- Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment: Manage the total quarterly vendor spend based on the preliminary split of vendor spend and report to procurement pillar lead.
- Respect and ethical standards: Maintains high ethical standards both personally and professionally
Qualifications
Formal qualifications:
- CA (SA) with 3 years of post-article experience and solid exposure to accounting and corporate taxation
- Appropriate Honours Finance or Commercial qualification would be considered
