Duties :

Ensure effective transport and logistics support services. Lead the development and execution of the departmental demand management strategy and plan. Oversee the demand and acquisition processes, ensuring alignment with financial planning and departmental needs. Establish and oversee the functioning of the Bid Specification Committee (BSC), Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC), and Bid Adjudication Committee (BAC). Provide strategic advice and support to the CFO and executive leadership. Promote good governance, ethical conduct, and anti-corruption measures within Supply Chain Management operations. Support the implementation of procurement systems and controls to mitigate risks and prevent irregular expenditure. Ensure compliance with PFMA, PPPFA, BBBEE, Treasury Regulations, and other relevant legislation. Manage human and financial resources within the Directorate.

The Department houses the disciplines of logistics and supply chain management, operations research, business analytics, and transport economics and is the only department at a South African university fully offering the various disciplines integrated in one department.

This role requires a candidate with experience and skills in logistics and supply chain management. Practical experience and/or teaching experience and/or research in at least three of the following are preferred: sustainable supply chain management, packaging logistics, humanitarian logistics, strategic sourcing, global dimension of supply chains, supply chain collaboration, logistics and supply chain analytics, visual data analysis, experiential learning, and artificial intelligence in logistics and supply chain management.

Duties:

The type of qualifications that are viewed favorably to enter the graduate programme include:

  • Supply Chain: BCom Degree (Logistics, Supply Chain Management)

Listed below are the minimum requirements that you are required to meet:

  • 65% Academic Average
  • Citizen in the country of hire
  • A relevant bachelor’s or Btech degree
  • High levels of ambition and self-motivation, supported by a strong desire for a career in FMCG, within Tiger Brands
  • Leadership and team working capabilities
  • Must have displayed the potential for high achievement and innovation throughout their qualification.
  • Have not worked full time (more than 1 year, not including workplace experience) in their field of study
  • Recent graduate from a tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Work authorization in the country for which application is being submitted
  • Geographical mobility – you will move to different locations throughout the training programme and you will need to relocate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
