Position OverviewOur client, a certified and established manufacturer of conveyor and bulk material handling equipment, seeks a dynamic Sales Director to lead and scale their commercial footprint both locally and internationally. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving top-line revenue, managing a high-performance sales team, and aligning commercial operations with the client’s long-term vision for quality, service, and transformation.
Reporting StructureThe Sales Director will report directly to executive leadership and will have the following direct reports :
- 2 × Internal Account Managers
- 1 × Business Development Manager
- 1 × International Sales Engineer
- 7–8 × Business Development Executives
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute integrated sales strategies aligned with the client’s business objectives and growth targets. Expand market share in South Africa and key international territories.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and motivate a cross-functional sales team to achieve high performance. Drive a culture of accountability, learning, and inclusion in line with the client’s empowerment initiatives.
- Client Relationship Management: Foster deep, long-term relationships with new and existing clients in the mining, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Oversee high-level negotiations and client retention strategies.
- Operational Alignment & Collaboration: Collaborate with production, technical, and service teams to deliver turnkey, high-quality conveyor solutions. Ensure alignment with ISO 9001:2015 and SABS-certified quality processes.
- Market Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop entry strategies for untapped markets. Lead the client’s participation in trade expos, tenders, and strategic alliances.
- Commercial Governance: Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior leadership. Manage forecasts, pipelines, pricing, and margin controls effectively.
- Brand Stewardship & Transformation: Promote the client’s market reputation for service excellence, quality assurance, and transformation. Leverage the client’s Level 2 B-BBEE credentials and Black Women ownership status in business development efforts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Business. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 8–12 years in senior sales or commercial roles within industrial manufacturing, mining supply, or material handling sectors.
- Proven leadership of multi-tiered commercial teams including account managers, business developers, and technical sales engineers.
- Strong track record in developing and closing large-scale sales contracts across domestic and international markets.
- Technical & Commercial Skills: Knowledge of conveyor systems, bulk materials handling, and turnkey industrial equipment solutions.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and commercial negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in CRM platforms, sales reporting tools, and budgeting processes.
- Alignment with quality standards, ISO systems, and transformation imperatives.
- Strong leadership presence and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Resilient, target-driven, and adaptable to dynamic commercial environments.

The Engineer must ensure the integrity of all surface infra structures, fixed and moving machinery inclusive of all electrical machinery and equipment within the area of responsibility of the Mining Operation.
Be the discipline master and custodian of all matters relating to Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM), pressure vessels, piping and valves. The primary focus is competent technical support in mechanical engineering with special emphasis on TMM in a major Open Pit environment.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements :
- Minimum of an Advance Diploma in Engineering
- BSc. Mechanical Engineering qualification an advantageous.
