Summary of the positionWe are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a BI Developer, you will report into the Business Intelligence Manager and be responsible for developing and maintaining BI and Reporting solutions.
Comptencies
- Proficient in reporting writing tools such as SSRS, dashboarding tools like Power Bi.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, Microsoft T-SQL.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes.
- Understanding of scheduling tools such as control-m.
- Fundamental understanding of basic warehouse concepts.
- Performance tuning of complex SQL queries.
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be expected to:
- Work with both Business Analysts and business owners to develop and enhance reports and dashboards.
- Maintain and enhance existing ETL processes.
- Be on regular after-hour stand-by support for the data warehouse loads.
- Performance tuning of stored procedures and reports.
- Ensure that development standards and processes are followed according to Apex’s best practices.
- A degree or diploma (3 years) with majors Information Systems or Computer Science will be a strong advantage.
- A good working knowledge of IT systems in a corporate environment.
- At least 2-3 years of solid SQL Server development experience, with profiency in report writing skills. This includes but not limited to building complex stored procedures, functions, and views.
- 3-5 years’ experience in building integration solutions independently.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including an ability to work independently from the business analyst team when appropriate.
- A high tolerance for ambiguity as requirements is not always clear at the start of a project and can change as users and analysts start to see the data.
- Self-starter who can take the initiative to learn new technologies independently and not just wait to be sent on training.
- Solid time management and communication skills essential.
- Ability to multi-task and to work on multiple project streams simultaneously.
- High personal integrity.

Essential Skills You’ll Bring To The Table
The necessary skills that we require for this role include:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
- Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
- At least 5 years work experience in a Business Intelligence or SQL Developer role
- 5+ years strong SQL experience (creation of stored procedures, functions, automation of jobs, performance tuning and optimization, RDBMS, error handling and logging, incremental data loading, change tracking/cdc, etc.)
- Minimum 3 years SSIS experience (creation of complex ETL processes, error handling, loading data from various data sources, integration of new data into data warehouse, precedence constraints, parameterized connections)
- Ability to build reports in Excel and reporting tools such as Power BI
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in front end visualisation tools such as Power BI, Qlikview, Tableau or Cognos
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Be able to give accurate technical estimates
- Driving new solutions based on business requirements
- Strong communication skills, ability to mentor others
- At least 1 year’s experience within DigiTech
Desirable Skills You’ve Got Up Your Sleeve
It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:
- In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation and market trends
- Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with an understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
- Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions
- Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies
- Experience integrating with API solutions
- Experience with Azure Fabric, Synapse or databricks
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365
- Knowledge of event-driven programming
- Service broker queue
- 1 year of project management experience
- Undergraduate degree (or substantial progress towards one) with majors in IS / math / stats / engineering or similar
- 1 year of experience with OLAP reporting tools and cube technologies, such as SSAS/Cognos TM1
