The OpportunityAs CFO, you’ll partner closely with the CEO, COO, and EXCO to lead all aspects of financial management, reporting, and governance. Key Responsibilities- Lead the full finance function across several entities, driving accuracy, transparency, and accountability
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and management reporting to support sound business decisions
- Strengthen internal controls, systems, and risk frameworks across manufacturing and distribution operations
- Partner with EXCO and operational teams to interpret financial data and drive performance improvement
- Ensure full compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, and statutory audit requirements
- Oversee stock management, costing, and margin analysis within a high-volume production environment
- Mentor, guide, and develop the finance team — fostering a culture of ownership, trust, and collaboration

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Management team. The CFO will be responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the organisation while driving innovation and efficiency across our Finance and IT functions. This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and providing essential oversight to the Board of Governors and Finance Committee.
You will lead the financial strategy, oversee the Finance Department, manage organisational investments, ensure regulatory compliance, and champion our ERP system, Acumatica, to deliver integrated financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Finance department and provide strategic financial guidance to the organisation.
- Oversee banking, investment portfolios, and project financing.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., SARS, IFRS for SMEs).
- Drive effective use and continuous improvement of the Acumatica ERP system.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure secure, efficient financial and operational systems.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit preparation.
- Foster a high-performance finance team culture and lead staff development.
ERP & Systems Leadership
- Act as the business owner of Acumatica, ensuring optimal configuration and usage.
- Lead system training, troubleshooting, and reporting enhancements.
- Maintain data integrity and financial accuracy within the ERP system.
- Align system capabilities with organisational goals and finance processes.
Reporting & Governance
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Present investment performance and financial updates to stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold POPIA compliance across finance operations.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS for SMEs and all statutory requirements.
Leadership and people Management
- Supervise and support the Finance Controller and other finance team members.
- Provide oversight of IT and its integration with finance systems.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and service within the Finance Department.
- Guide staff development, performance management, and training (including Acumatica).
Monthly Tasks
- SARS compliance.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Review investment placements and performance.
- Collate project financial data and ensure accuracy.
- Report financial position to the CEO and Finance Sub-Committee.
- Ensure Acumatica data is reconciled, accurate, and up to date.
Quarterly Tasks
- Lead quarterly investment feedback meetings.
- Review financial system performance and identify enhancements in Acumatica.
- Prepare Grant Trust Statements for half-yearly meetings.
Annual Task
- Lead preparation of budgets and tariff reviews.
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with IFRS for SMEs.
- Coordinate external audit and supporting schedules.
- Ensure Acumatica year-end closing processes are accurately executed.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with 7+ years post-qualification experience.
- Proven leadership in finance functions within a medium to large organisation.
- Solid understanding of audit processes, statutory returns, and compliance.
- Strong experience with ERP systems (preferably Acumatica orequivalent).
- Excellent MS Excel skills and a sharp analytical mindset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in team development, strategic planning, and change management.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide effective, proactive, and professional administrative and secretarial support to our CEO and the assigned Executive members. This person will be the point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders. This role will contribute to the efficiency of the business by managing the flow of information in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Performance Outputs Screen all incoming telephone calls as well as general emails. Organise and coordinate calendars / activities of the CEO and other senior managers as agreed and keep calendars of assigned executive members up to date. Prepare and distribute agendas for meetings as well as any other content as and when required; including the coordinating of charts, graphs, and other meeting presentation preparation. Take minutes during Executive and Senior Management meetings or when requested and distribute them afterward to all relevant parties. Organise and maintain accessible records of emails and other communication about individual transactions, drafts, and finalised agreements and supporting documentation through developing and utilising filing and retrieval systems of documents. Dictaphone typing, editing, formatting, and proofreading of documents and commercial transaction agreements. Reliable and consistent archiving of drafts and information management.Organise and arrange lunch and/or dinner appointments with external stakeholders. Responsible for all preparations and ordering of catering requirements for board and senior manager meetings, when requested. Do monthly credit card recons in collaboration with the Finance team.
